Eric,
Missed your call. Sorry. Call or PM. Oh, and come to THill in September!

Will,
I usually tech my own car. Maybe we should tech each others At the track, its $40. I hear if you do it at a sponsored tech shop, it's free. You may want to ask Jerry from NASA.

i was so crazy 2 days ago... was thinking if i should trade my car for an ///M. but then i figured, shit i've spent TONS of money in and none of them are transferable to the M, im basically wasting all money i've put in. with the price of the car i paid and all the mods i spent, that would've been an M price tag...

oh well, my mind was crazy once a while...

Eric, I would need to hear the sound but doesn't appear to be a bad turbo. Maybe you have a pipe that slipped off causing a whisitling/buzzing sound. Happened to me when my FMIC pipe popped off of a silicon coupler.

Dan, I'm probably just going to tech it at the track...I have no time to head downtown to one of the stations. Nice DIY too.

Eric you don't want a M for daily driving. Besides, our torque monsters are way more fun, I dont like driving at 8k RPM just to have power.

sure i can handle an M for a DD
but true, i prob will miss the crazy neck-breaking torque if i go with the M. IF the future M is FI on the 8, that's different story, i probably wouldn't think and just drop my gun on them

Does anyone elses car vibrate at around 90mph when letting off the throttle? I think I may have either a) bad tires b) wheels need balancing c) alignment or d) need new bushings

i'll say first to check will be balancing... i did a road force balance from Les schwab but don't think they did a good job... still have minor vibration sometimes... i need to find a good tire shop to redo it....

Got my car tech inspected at valley motorworks, nice people. Kind of a pain to take an hour and 1/2 off during business hours to get a 10 minute inspection.

Getting excited for Saturday, Dan you bringing the shade again? That was clutch last time.

Yup. And let me say that we NEED to park together. Whoever gets there first (Meepster or Syndicate), you gotta save us like 6 spots. From what I can tell, we have at least JBASS, Meepster, Skow, Syndicate, and myself. I'm sure there will be more too. I volunteer you two since you are spending the night up there. I'm not sure if I will be camping there, driving from Lincoln, or worse yet, driving from Turlock.

Second that on those inspections. My first ever HPDE was with my SLK55. Paid $40 for the inspection at Infineon. They just looked at the engine bay, made a couple compliments and signed off the paperwork. Pretty ridiculous for $40.

PS, you fix that hood?

Nope, been pretty damn busy the last month. Out of town or trying to catch up on work i'm behind on because i've been out of town... backed up on some car work I need to do: need to play with my hood spring more, install my lux 8 lights, install my p3 gauge, etc.

Dan probably won't be too excited to share his videos. Was nice meeting the rest of you. I had a blast, it's a shame you and Dan had issues; track days really aren't as fun when you aren't out there driving. You mentioned a Laguna Seca event, when is it and was that through NASA?

I think it's December 20th! I'll be attending that and also Infineon on 24 September (maybe just Hyperdrive at Infineon)

Not too excited is right. Here is the one and only decent lap out of the whole day from Session 2. This is how things panned out for me...

Session 1) 4 laps. It was the slowest session ever as the traffic never let up. I got a tiny bit of running room, experienced brake shudder, then pit.
Session 3) Didn't run. Worked on car.
Session 4) Tried again. Too much shudder. Shut down after 1 lap.

Session 2) 2 laps with video. Hit traffic at 5:00. Pretty hard brake shudder around 5:30 that didn't let up. A short while later, I shut it down.

Dan are you sure your rotors are warped? Everything I read about the Cool Carbon pads leads me to beleive they were the problem.

They worked at Infineon because it was 20 deg cooler and you use less brake energy because it's a slower track. Try the Hawks, heat them up nice and good, and see if you can repeat the issue.

I like the video...that blue WRX didn't give you much room to pass

hey Will, sorry about me being so dumb to ask a question, how do you launch? i never had a chance to do a good launch. my 60' time always around 2.4s.... i tried to use my AP and did some 0-60 testing... most of my 60', the best is still 2.3s..
i brake boost to 2500 rpm, DTC, and just smash it, right? you gotta show me how to launch this thing... i suck at it

I'm really unsure what's the cause. On Sunday, I'll switch to stock pads and test. If the shudder is still present, it's going to BMW for service. Need to get this fixed before Sep 7th!

Yeah, that WRX wasn't paying much attention. I contemplated passing him on Turn 10 but decided to wait. Even then, he didn't notice me. That, or he wanted to kiss my bumper. Close call for sure. Blurted a swear word. Might be audible. Lol.
