Thats exactly what I agree with. Every guy tells me get a ninja 250 and I keep saying no! Thats a push button bike. I have a lot of self control so I know I can handle the power.... just need to get stronger so I can handle the weight

If you've been riding a while on a 700 size bike then going to a 250 would be hard to live with I'm sure. If you were just starting out riding then a 250 would be nice. Sara, I mentioned a 250 because they are physically smaller, lighter, and lower seat height.

Great bike to start with. To many people that really haven't ridden motorcycles buying bikes that are just WAY to much.JUst becareful out there I've been sidelined for about 3 yrs ever since someone slammed me and broke my neck and just about ripped my shoulder off. I was just getting ready to be a MSF instructor and everything came to a crashing halt. I still can't walk past my bikes without my adrenaline kicking in though.I learned to ride a Rupp motorcycle before a bicycle .I was only 4 yrs old. Its been an addiction ever since . Even after the accident...gotta love it. Nothing beats that feeling

I ride a 1998 - VFR800.
Modded with SS brake lines, carbon fiber, powder coated wheels, etc.... I bought it out of the crate from the dealership. Now has 43K miles. Next bike is a Ducati 848 or BMW S1000 RR. Pure sex on wheels. |

People, you all have have such cool bikes! I love the white bikes especially trimmed in red like red rim tape and levers.

I've had three bikes and I finally found the perfect combination of power and comfort. I ride a 2005 CBR 600 F4i. Bikes are great especially if you live in the right places. Easy to work on, fast as hell and the community is great too.

Love riding, saw some great pics as I read through this thread. The MV Agusta looks awesome. My last bike was a ZX9R, my work bike was a BMW R1150RT-P, best job.LOL Unfortunately a motorcycle accident on the ZX9R in Apr 2003 ended my riding days, so I recently bought a 335i convertible.
Starting with a MSF course is great!!! If you are planning on getting a sportbike later, look into a roadracing course and do some track days. This way you'll be ready for some fun on backroads because the street is not the place to learn how to drag knees. Wear safety gear, leathers, gloves and helmet. Enjoy riding. @Sara, most new 600, 750 and 1000cc bikes weight around 400+/- lbs. A 600cc bike would be my choice, plenty of power and great handling. Lower it, reposition the foot pegs if you need to and enjoy.

i used to own a 2009 zx6r and kept up with alot of 1000 06 or lower, now i have a fully modded 2009 zx10r (guhl motors ecu flash, pcv, full arrow system,k&n race filter) and a bunch off other mods.
not too many bikes out there that can keep up with it.

Niice, 650 is a good bike to have. Plenty of power and still forgiving.
People call me crazy but my first bike and still have it is: 2007 Ninja ZX-14 The newer '05+ 600s are light enough for you, the majority of the weight sits low and won't feel top heavy like the Gixxer 750. My little sister is 5'4 110 lbs and rides a CBR 600RR and she likes the way it feels. My 14 is heavy but I don't feel the weight as it sits low compared to older ZX12 I sat on which gave me the feeling like I would drop it if it leaned to far over on one side.

Congrats on the bike! Yes, bikes at a younger age fed my love for SPEED and excitement! Just be safe, I had two friends involved in accidents after being cut off by elderly drivers switching lanes. Both were pretty bad but both survived and it was a good thing they had helmets. I promised my wife I would not ride, but it has been over 20 yrs (i keep renewing my license) so I might get back on one after the kids leave the nest my last bike was a CBR1000 and before that I had a Nighthawk 700 and a few others in High school I hope to have a Ducati or BMW in the future
FYI...a good starter bike would be a 250 from Honda or Kawasaki. The Honda CB500R and NC700X are also excellent starter bikes if you want a little more power.

Of course a bike feels and is faster accelerating, there's more than a tonne in weight difference :-)
And than there's the feeling of the wind resistance. My ZX12R weighs about 1240kg less than my e91 325i, both having 218hp. And the ZX12 does 210mph (gps) instead of 152mph |

So I did my first mod to the bike:
Before (isn't my bike but one like it). By the way, think I should do red rim tape? After:
