Can't wait...this Wednesday - driving SoCal to Vegas (passed on flying to drive)

not much to share guys (and a few gals) just that this Wed I will be pointing the D from the OC to Sin City / granted flights are less than what I spent on lunch today but who cares...me and the misses are driving....very curious to see our MPG (but that will be balanced with the fact that my V1 is ready to go, my JBD is at 70% and there is a lot of open highway between here and there so we'll see) / really really looking forward to the drive

Enjoy, I hear that is a nice piece of road to stretch your legs a bit. Bring the GoPro if you have one!

Safe travels.

these cars get good mileage when driven hard and even better mileage driven normal.

i did 540 miles at an average of 83 mph from orlando to georgia and she got 34mpg.
the other 500 miles, my dad did at an average speed of 76mph and he got 38mpg

therefore our overall trip mileage was 36mpg, just what the EPA stated

i can't remember the second tank but the first tank which was at an average of 83mph and filled up a hand checked 34mpg was driven 540 miles with a range of 20 miles to go or so.
the second tank did the remainder of the trip which was roughly 520 miles which was at a checked 38mpg and had a range that put it over 600 miles.

it's amazing that i can leave New York City with a full tank, full up once and make it to Orlando Florida. almost 1100 miles. All while doing an average of 80mph overall.

so not bad 270 miles....avergage speed was 71mph....mpg was 37 / set the cruise control at about 74 / cool thing is it says I have a little over 300 to go so I may be able to make this trip round trip on a single tank / I'll get on it a little more on the way back and see how badly the mpg is impacted / all in all a great ride

Ah, the old I-15. I've made that drive quite a few times. The baker grade and that mountian pass (can't remember the name) out of San Bernadino likely didn't help your fuel mileage on the way there.

I've read reviews on the autobhan cruising triple digits testers still managed high 20's mpg, like 28-31mpg.

I drive back from Pittsburgh one night, to NYC, about 370 miles, pretty hilly. in the cold. i did have my lighter winter setup on. i did those 370 miles with the cruise set to 95mph, a quick run to 145mph, some other bursts and i still managed to do that average speed of 82mph given hills and lots of opening her up and get 31.5mpg

Ok just got back and for comparisons sake figured on the way back I would ditch the cruise control (as it turns out given the traffic I really couldn't use it anyway)....so averaged 72mph and 32MPG....but this included stop and go....steady freeway speeds (70-90) and bursts to 120+

ps- love my V1 saved me twice....as other cars rocketed by me I slowed to 70MPH...knowing someone was sitting ahead / and then again slowed to 70MPH because I knew someone was trailing a mile or so behind but was closing / in both cases cars were pulled over by the nice man in the black and white car
