I was thinking the same thing. It's not the crane operator's fault. Just don't crash.

But the amount of special design helmet is overwhelming.
There should be a rule that only World Champions are allowed to use special design helmet.

Drivers like van der Garde, Perez...what's the point?

ROS/HAM 1-2. What else is new? This bodes well for RBR because the Merc's suck with anything but a thimble of fuel in their tanks.
I don't understand the buzz around their qual wins, when ROS/HAM have done nothing with it all season and consistently shit the bed on race day.

This should be interesting start. You'll have Vettel, Kimi and Alonzo trying to get through the Mercedes before Mirabeau while Weber goes backwards.

I know you can't read much into this race in terms of tire wear, but the inevitable drop of the Mercs didn't happen, both seemed to have good pace and if it wasn't for that safety car they probably would have finished 1-2. Makes me excited for Montreal, where Hamilton won last year.

WTF!

I checked my cable last night, set my alarm, woke up to catch the race RECAP??

Cable still says F1 of Monaco 7:30-10 right now, well FUCK ME. I'm pissed off, I missed the race completely.

I wondered why they said the race was at 7:30 when practice and qualifying was at 5.

If they keep fucking up the cable times I'll have to set my alarms 2 hours early just to be sure I don't miss the races.

Looks like the race itself was on NBC, not NBC Sports: http://www.autoweek.com/article/20130522/F1/130529942

I knew the race was 7:30 (pre-race show at 7am), but I rely on my DVR to record new qualifying/practice/races. I was surprised when I saw it was scheduled to record at 10:30 and not earlier but didn't think to look into it.

Since I don't have a recording set up on NBC, it didn't record anything.

Now, it's 8:00, and they are re-airing the race. It's obviosly going to go past the 10:00 ending time that the cable says, they simply posted incorrect times.

This is even worse, as I got up just in time to have the race spoiled by watching the recap, and now it's actually on.

Not sure if it's NBC or Comcast that screwed up, but one of them is on my shit list.

I don't think anyone screwed up. The race was broadcast live on *NBC* at 7:30 ET:

http://motorsportstalk.nbcsports.com...e-live-on-nbc/

NBC Sports is broadcasting an encore of the race now. They obviously went over the scheduled time due to the safety car periods and race stoppage. (I always have my DVR record an extra 120 minutes just for those few occasions).

I also missed the race because I didn't notice it was being held on NBC live and not NBC Sports. What my DVR recorded at the scheduled 10:30am ET was the podium ceremony, so it was ruined for me too.

I did hear "first time live on network television" but it didn't register, so I have no else to blame except myself.

Maldonado crashed too much that they need to wrap a barrier around him.

I knew that some of the races were going to be on NBC and not MSNBC, but I watched practice and Qualifying on the MSNBC channel, checked forward in time and the guide said "LIVE, the F1 of Monaco" at 7:30 (my time) so that's when I set my alarm.
I never heard anyone announce the race would be on NBC instead of CSNBC, but you can be sure I'll be checking both channels in the future.

That was the first F1 race that I haven't watched live in probably 5 or 6 years.

Same here. The race was scheduled to be 0430 to 0700 Hawaii time on HDNBC. When I started to view the recording, I saw Rosberg being congratulated for the win, then the highlights of the race
At first, I thought that it was a celebration for his pole position, then realized that the race was over

Something got screwed up for sure. I missed the first 17 laps and my scheduled recording got seriously shortened. Luckily I still caught most of the race.

Major kudos to Nico. Very glad to see him win. He was dominant. And if Hamilton intentionally slowed the field for Nico on that restart, good for him. Cool thing to do.

Lots of crashes. Mostly good aggressive racing. Perez is a bit too wild, though. And Grojean is Grojean. Maldonado was dreaming if he thought he was going to pull off that move.
