I hate Speed Cameras

I think I got caught by a speed camera today. It was on Darnstown RD. I was going 40ish and the speed limit was 30. Hoping it didn't go off. The Camera was on the other side of the road though.

I hate speed cameras.... Just needed to get that off my chest.

if u have idrive, you can get most speed & red light cameras onto the nav disc as POIs.

Just go faster the camera cannot pick you up.

If your on the other side of the road are you sure it picked you up? I pass those all the time and I don't slow down if its on the other side.

Not so fast, usually if you see one on the other side there is bound to have the same on your side of the road. Wait a month from now and see if you're getting anything in the mail

By the intersection of Seneca Rd 112, consider the Harris Teeter the center you have speed cameras on both sides of the store but they are pretty far apart not like most of the camers in the area where it's one on one side and then you see the one for the other side of the road right away.

look for the lines across the road near the speed cameras. That's what most likely triggers the speed camera. If there wasn't any on your side, you should be good but you never know.

That's it! That's where it was! The camera was on the left side of me. I was going towards Jones Lane.

I know the feeling. Got two this past month both in Bethesda in the same spot. I didn't know I got one until the other one came in the mail. The funny part is these were the only two times I even went into Bethesda last month

I got a few from Chicago when I was there for 4 days in November.
In chicago if u come to a turn and don't come to a complete stop (on red light) then you get a ticket. I mean you have to come to complete stop or else u r facked (u replaced by a; not a fob - i know how to spell). lol.

anyways, it sucked.

Montgomery County is going nuts with these speed cameras...

I got caught by the one in front of Walter Johnson High School a little over a month ago but haven't gotten the ticket in the mail yet...I hope I was going too fast! (i honestly think i was)

Does anyone know if the fines are assessed based on how fast you were going or is it a flat rate? I've heard both.

Yeah, I've noticed the newer ones are a bit different than the ones that they set up in previous years. You'll only notice one or two thin lines on the road now, whereas before (and still in DC) you'll see a series of lines making it easier to recognize and slow down in the middle of the speed trap. The newer ones are harder to notice that you're getting tagged while you're in it.
