Hot as in USGA non-conforming?

Funny you mention the Rapture driver... I tried about 10 different drivers yesterday at a store... and I REALLY liked the way the Rapture felt... the way it swings, the feel of the whole club, and especially the way it feels on impact.

I also hit the Nike Sumo Squared, and it does have a funky sound... reminds me of a large empty coffee can hitting the pavement... but I can live with that. I just need to see what my drives do off the tee now.

Also tried a bunch of 3 woods... and I liked the Callaway Big Bertha best. I didn't get to hit a Rapture 3 wood... I want to try that sometime.

Sam

P.S. You can check on the USGA conformity of your driver here:

His mom/dad are probably members, so he is a "family member" I presume...

Not hot that way. It was used by whats his name that won The U.S. Open. The Argentinian fella. The new Cobra F-Speed was long too. It has a slightly closed club face though. Drove me .

DUH I should have thought about it but from his post it makes it sound like he is actually paying for it but I guess he has not put a dime in on the membership. Who cares if membership is a bitch when your not paying.

I really need to take lessons and start learning how to golf. SO many of my clients ask me if I golf and if I did I could meet so many more people to buy cars. I guess if I play golf its an investment.

Is that really necessary to call me out on that? yes my dad is the one with the membership but since im part of his family I can utilize it. The reason I said anything about membership is because I mentioned the discount prices on clubs and clothing, so I thought I would add that its not like you put your name on a piece of paper and get this discount you end up paying for it in the membership and dues. But one other thing...how do you know I dont put any money towards the membership?

I dont know that but assumed (which was a mistake and I am sorry) that going to school and playing golf all the time you did not have money because you had no time to work. I guess in the summer you could work but I figured your dad would not take you money being that I bets its over 100k a ear to join. I am not calling you out and I am sorry if you thought that. You are one of the nicest members here espically for your age so once again I apologize for not knowing you gave your Dad money to be a member. Whatever you get from your parents you deserve because it seems like you at leaast have a clue about life.

But I will thank you for your kind words they really do mean something to me as I try to be as friendly as possible but also stern in the sense that I wont let people "push" me around because im 20 years younger then them lol. Either way its all good no worries :rocks:

Well I received the Nike SUMO Squared today.

I was expecting the non-conforming SUMO Squared head, but I got the conforming head with the engraved circle (new Conformance mark) between the SQ and Nike swoosh on the bottom of the head. It also came with a really cool headcover... much nicer than the one for my R7 460.

I went to the driving range to compare to my current driver (Taylor Made R7 460 with custom Aerotech 50 shaft).

I found I hit the SUMO Squared straighter. But I am longer with my R7.

The sound of the SUMO Squared is definitely a turn-off. Its difficult to describe what it sounds like... but people stopped and stared when I started hitting the SUMO Squared.

The R7 460 has a nice metallic "TING" to it.

I'm debating whether or not its worth keeping the SUMO Squared and putting on my favorite Aerotech 50 shaft to see if I can get better distance... and maybe it'll buy me more consistent drives. But that sound

Anybody want to buy a Nike SUMO Squared 8.5 degree on stiff ALDILA VS Proto shaft? Used 1 day only at the range $180 shipped!

The Sumo Squared is something I may look at in its next iteration, the square heads are going to be the big thing next year!

Last time i got out was about a month ago in Aspen, heres a couple pics...

EDIT: Those pics were taken at the Roaring Fork Golf Club, with my dads Blackberry, first one was a ~285, second one was 298, my longest yet, but probablly was partly due to the drop in elevation.

I would love to see how far I could hit it there. Thursday, like idiots, we played. 104 before index. I wanted to die. Hit a 331 par 4. Carry was about 300. It was neat to watch. Played in San Diego a while back. The ball seemed to go for ever there too.
