Custom 335is badging

On my last car I changed my oem 'chrome' badge to matte black.
My current car is an AW 335is and as you may know, shadow line trim and front grill is standard. The rear "335is" badge is still chrome though.
Looking for opinions on what to do with it...

1. Debadge

2. Leave it (not going to happen)

3. Gloss Black

4. Matte Black

5. Red (Custom)

6. Black face with red 'shadow' side edges (Custom)

A few examples: gloss black, matte black, gloss & matte side by side, and red. [Photo's from Bimmian.com]

if you want it black with 5%gloss, buy some plasti-dip. spray it while its on the car and peel it away carefully. Plasti-dip only sticks to the numbers/letters not your paint.

I think debadge or black. Definitely no red, and no chrome. If you have shadowline trim that's glossy right? And the kidneys are matte? So you could do either gloss or matte black. FYI, I have shadow badges from JLevi (made by Bimmian I think) and the matte black isn't very matte. It's more like satin - I actually painted mine with Rustoleum flat black to make them completely matte.

I have the better answer. Debadge them all

or go with gloss black.

I saw a 335is with gloss black grills, gloss black trim, and gloss black badges. Looked great

+1 on both thoughts. Gloss black would make the most sense because the rest of the stock trim is GB.

if you already have matte black grilles, then matte black emblems would be an ideal match

Thanks for all the responses. I'll probably go with gloss black. Unfortunately, Bimmian doesn't carry the "s" for the "is" models. Nobody else carries these, right?
Elsewhere, I was quoted about 28+ shipping for oem badge and I'd have to paint it.

At Bimmerfest 2012 Bimmian said that they were still planning on coming out with black 335is badges. They said that the die to do this would cost around $10K.

I voted matte black but that's only because I Plasti-dipped mine. I'd still like to see a "black chrome" 335is badge that matches the black chrome on the front grille.

Hey! We talked at Bimmerfest.I was the guy with the white lowered 'is.'
Black chrome would be a perfect choice. I've asked bimmian a number of times since the 'is' came out and their answer has always been 'check back in a few months.' I'm sure it's simple demand. I highly doubt that it would really cost them 10k considering how cheaply things can be manufactured in China. I think they just need enough demand to make a large initial order worthwhile. I believe the OEM chrome rear badge can be had for about $20 online. It makes more sense to just buy a new badge and spray it 'black chrome.' I just don't have the time I used to to be able to get it done.
