Hi all.

Seeing as there are a few of these threads on the go I figured I'd do one of my own.

So here is the car after getting it home

First on the cards was ditching the chrome grills for BMW Perf black ones to go with the high gloss shadow line trim

Next up was to ditch the yellow OEM halo bulbs with some BMS led jobs that I got off the GB here

Not the best photography I know, best I could manage with my camera at the time.

Moving on was to replace the side repeaters with smoked ones from mStyle

At first I thought they were too dark but after giving them some time they have grown on me and I quite like them now and mates have said it looks a lot better than stock so they're here to stay.

Moving on, next up was to ditch the stock badges and replace them with Black ones I found on the web (not eBay, can't remember the site).

They look good but not overly impressed with the quality. The carbon ones off eBay seem better but I'm going to contact ssdd when I get home and see what they can do for me. Otherwise I'll stick the stock ones back on.

Almost forgot, during this time I managed to get myself a bargain and got a Genuine BMW Performance exhaust off eBay and is by far the best mod I've made to the car yet. The sound is epic and my video doesn't do it justice.

Next on the list of jobs is to get the disks and pads changed so got a full set off mTech

Finally it was time to go back to work so never got the time to buy my wheels, springs, fit my new discs/pads and do my full detail which it sorely needs now after winter. All I had time to do was give it a damn good clean and throw some more protection on it.

I'll try to keep this updated as the work progresses. Thanks for looking

G

Thanks

The new wheels I'm planning on are 19" Cades Tyrus with Gunmetal Centres. http://turrifftyres.co.uk/media/1236

Once they're on the 189's will go off for a refurb. Not decided on the colour But Gloss black would be too much IMO. I'll most likely get them done in something similar to BMW's Space Grey but then they're just going to be winters so might just get them in whatever's cheaper.

Looking good. Taking shape well.

I wouldn't overkill with too much black.

I would need to see the wheels on the car, but can't decide if I like them or not off it. A few guys have BBS LM replicas and they look good.

One minor thing and probably personal, I just don't like the indicator lenses. Trivial I know but they seem to be my pet hate.

Thank you Sir

There's a couple more bits that need darkening for me. Lights, undecided on whether to go for laminex or fly eye and window tints 30 or 40% sides and rear

There's a couple of pictures of the wheels fitted to an E46 here - http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroo...h=51_23_122_32 . I did consider the LM's but not a fan of the bolted split rim design and they weren't dark enough for me. I'm certainly not getting gloss black wheels as that is taking it too far but they do have to be dark

As for the side repeaters it's definitely one of those each to their own things and I respect the fact that they won't be to everyones taste. I was unsure at first but they have grown on me and I think they look better than the standard ones. There will no doubt be plenty of people on here who agree either way with another band screaming 'CHAV!!!!!!' at the tops of their voices, but to be fair I couldn't care less as a lot of people regard anything popular with the kids or not OEM 'Chav'

Thanks

I am keeping the wheels but they're going to be for winter use so not fussed. Still looking at different wheel designs but the Tyrus is my fave so far, and haven't seen too many E92's sporting them so keeps it different. As for the lights I am considering the LED upgrade but a lot of money for not a lot of difference IMO, I'll be smoking this set and then take it from there, I may change my tune somewhere down the line. I'm always open to suggestions and change.

Cheers

On an SE?????? Do you have a link? I'm not sure it would look right

I do want a lip spoiler but I'm going to wait untill it's lowered before I make my final descision but I'm excluding all the popular ones as I want the car to be different from the masses. Probably have to go down the custom route

Do those fluted brakes tick when driving, and whoosh under braking?

I have the SSDD aero lip at the front, but mine was made in CF.
Never seen another. And now the wife has scraped it - its being painted entirely silver

Sorry to hear about the Splitter

Haven't had a chance to fit the brakes yet due to working on the house and being called back offshore so not going to happen for at least a few weeks now.

I expect there will be a little bit of noise from them under braking as you are introducing an uneven surface but any ticking during running would suggest either the pads aren't retracting properly or the disks are well out of true. Time will tell, they're cheap and cheerful and if they work, Bonus. If not, then I haven't lost much and will go down the Pagid route as I believe you did. Will see how these Mintex pads hold up but can see an order for yellow stuff pads in the future.

It's a shame no DS2500 or Pagid pads a/v for the 335i (AFAIK).

Apparently there are DS2500 pads model No. FCP1628H
I had 2 companies tell me that these are the correct pads via email. Checked against Ferodo parts catalog.
I tried to contact Ferodo twice via email to confirm, but have yet to receive a reply.

Email;

"Hi Ant,

Yes these are for the BMW 3 Coupè (E92) 335i and will fit according to the Ferodo catalogue. The 225 relates to the kw and is the same kw that Brembo state is for the 335i too.

Kind Regards

Pete

That looks to be correct as the m3 and 335i share the same pad according to the companies I have spoken to and cross referencing the part numbers etc.

Would you have the rear part number to hand for the ds2500s?

Have not read all replies due to being tired and on I-Phizz. But I prefer the yellow angel eyes myself as they look classier. Also prefer standard side repeaters. Otherwise nice car!

Don't you worry mate, it's in safe hands. Having a lot of fun with it but starting to get that tuning itch so the torque figure is only going to get bigger. The economy is a bonus, managed to average 40mpg on the way home after doing the deal with you.
