If the LCM needs to be replaced, software update may need to be done as well. Therefore, you may still need to go back to the dealer to get it repaired.
I had mine done and cost me $1200 at Autohaus a few years back. |

yep.
I suggest you talk to the dealer first and get a quote to see how much & scope of work involved, then you can decide or you can consult with the mentioned shops first and see what they think. Sometimes, it can be a simple fix. |

Thanks for help... Firstly , would you know a good BMW dealership in Toronto to get this checked out.
Secondly, a good trusted Indy BMW shop also. Just want to weight my options on which route to go down to get this fixed. Reason I ask as I am new to the BMW world so got to start all over (BMW mechanic/dealership) as I used to owned a Audi before this 2 weeks ago, Thanks again.. |

BMW Toronto would be my dealer choice.
Try: http://www.autobahneast.ca/contact_us.html Call them to see if they can give you some insight (without having to go all the way there) Another member "MarkD" mentioned this new shop: "Advanced Knowledge Automotive at 346 Newkirk Road, Richmond Hill 905-883-4BMW It's run by Trevor Hayes and Jerrold Potter who both recently worked at BMW dealerships. They have all the tools and knowledge to fix anything on your cars." Last edited by bobblehead; 03-30-2011 at 04:41 PM.. |
