Thumbs up Installation of the mods finally began - DVs;DCI;RevII;DPs;LSD;FMIC;OC;exhaust; etc.

Hi,

I hope this thread will be interesting for someone

So, I bought all the mods during the winter and finally installation began.

A friend of mine agreed to help (actually, he did all the job, my help was minimal, I was just taking photos ), so I took some of the parts and went to his place.

The parts' box:

Firsly, intake was taken off:

Actually, you need these tools

Installation of the scoops:

Then air filter box goes off:

Time to replace diverter valves and hoses with 'proper' ones:

Standard DV:

Replacement of hoses:

Changed springs to yellow ones and lubricated'em:

Diverter valves installed:

Time for BMS DCI:

Installation of the further filter was a bit tricky so we were hoping to find some tips in installation guide. Didn't find any

Done:

Installation of scoops, DVs and DCI took about 2 hours. It could've been done quicker but I was the one who distracted and disturbed - wanted to take photos of everyting

To be continued soon...

Thanks. Actually, I already love them - now I can hear a whisle, especially when I floor from 2k to 3k rpm.

But I'm sure I'll love my other mods even more. This was just the first (and easiest) part

The same as before. Or at least I haven't noticed any difference. The only thing that differs - I can hear a whistle, but it's because of the removed filter box. And it seems that the engine is a bit louder.

In your last picture, you may want to see if your rear cone intake is fully inserted against the stock hose. It looks to be touching against the battery bus bar and it will cut a hole into the intake over time if you leave it like that.

Actually the Forge DVs are louder than stock... especially when boosting @ 12psi and above. Letting off the throttle quickly sounds almost like a BOV, but not as loud.

I'll take a picture of mine since I had the same issue when installing the DCI. I went back and remanipulated the rear intake hose (its flexible enuf) and made sure the coupler to the intake was inserted deeper into that hose (sounds like a porno description ..lol). Made a difference and now my intake cone sits well below the bus bar.

Did you find information to suggest the DV was needed at stock boost levels? Or was that in prep for higher boost?
I remember switching out the DV on my VW to a Forge when I increased the psi.

Just did the same mods a couple of days ago. Forge DV's and aFe intake. I also used the yellow springs and didn't notice a change in sound when lifting off. I am running 14.5psi. I am auto so that might make a difference or the valves with the yellow springs don't let out as much air.

I'm installing Vishnu tomorrow I think that answers your question. By the way, we put the yellow springs (according to users manual, they should be used when boost is 15-23 PSI) and currently I'm on stock boost level, but I didn't feel any difference.
