ok. well the issue with the computer means, COMPUTER as in PC not ECU.

Also, like I said, I dont want to give out the numbers yet, because I do not have the proof in my hands. The number were pretty percise for a few runs.

I will post up the result within 2~3days with before and after. Sorry for the "fronting".

Like everyone else I would be interested in the dyno numbers and price. I would also like to know more details on this system, such as does it replace the downpipes?

Cool

You said the exhaust is "Miltek" right?

Also, a question: Why a BOV instead of a diverter valve like the original??

I don't think the tips look overly large at all. The stock ones are definitely too small and look a little weak and cheap, but these look perfect. I agree about the visible clamps though. Losing them would definitely improve the look

Great news! We finally got some dyno numbers for everyone. We made peak gains of 13hp and 8ftlb of torque to the wheels.

We're going to start taking pre-orders on this kit with introductory pricing. The normal MSRP will be $1700, but we will offer a $125 discount if you make a pre-order. That brings the introductory pricing to $1575.

We realize there are other exhaust options out there, but the bang-for-the-buck factor is incredibly high with this kit. With two resonators, two mufflers, semi-polished pipe, a proper x-style crossover, and a wickedly exotic sound, you can't beat this deal.

PLEASE NOTE: NO CHARGES WILL BE MADE TO YOUR ACCOUNT UNTIL THE PRODUCT HAS SHIPPED!!

If you'd like to add your name to the pre-order list, you have two options. Either call us directly at: 301-576-6142. Or, email Josh Adams at JAdams@cp-e.com. I can also answer any questions here that you guys still have.

You mean the torque gain? 8ftlbs seems to be within the range of the other 335i exhaust systems, and keep in mind this is only at the 'torque peak.' If you look at other areas of the graph, you'll see we exceeded 8ftlbs in several spots. Either way, we're pleased with the results and the way the car pulls now

KL2DC, where are your meets?
And John, are you from VA or is that just your funny plates? I'm from VA myself. I like your exhaust. One thing, the valve in the left muffler, I believe, is for cold start warming purposes. Whenever I start my engine, all the exhaust is vented out only to the right muffler. After one minute when the car is warmed up, the valve in the left opens up. That valve is the only thing that makes me skeptical of changing my exhaust. It's there b/c it has a positive function. I heard that Dinen is coming out with an exhaust soon for the 335i's. It may include this valve in the left side.

John, one question, how loud does it get inside the car? I have a wife and kid and they don't share the same joy as I. My last exhaust in my previous car (Acura CL Type S) was good when I'm driving by myself, but not with passangers in the back. Thanks.

Chris

you can use a golf tee or a screw in the line that comes off the muffler and that solves the problem....so i've heard

How can a stock 335i dyno-test match your numbers?? Here are the results for the 1st Dyno back in August 2006:
http://www.automobilemag.com/feature...i_dynamometer/

Here are the results of the second dyno a month later with a different 335i just to verify the results on the 1st one was correct. There were many skeptics:
http://www.automobilemag.com/feature..._dyno_revised/

"The results? 275 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels--more than we expected. Rated by the Bimmer boys at 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque, it was pretty clear to us that the Bavarian masterpiece was a little underrated from the factory."

"...we've heard some criticism of our conclusion that the 335i makes 'closer to 350 hp' than the reported 300. We arrived at that verdict after some quick calculations, but since a chassis dyno only reports how many horses make it to the wheels, it's admittedly a hard number to verify. We did four runs with that particular car, and the actual peaks were 276, 280, 280, and 283 horsepower. We published the lowest number to be sure there was no claim that we were exaggerating the engine's output."

http://www.automobilemag.com/feature..._335i_dyno.jpg

"The results were very consistent, showing peaks of 285 hp, then 282 hp, and, finally, 287 hp. This 335i was even stronger at the top end than the last one, but not as strong in the midrange. Peak torque was stable through all three runs at about 285 lb-ft.

After the final run, we decided to grab audio of the 335i running from first gear through fourth. We expected to have the hairs on the back of our neck stand up at the sound of the 3.0-liter engine at full throat, but what we didn't expect, of course, was a peak hp number nudging the 300-hp mark. That's right--shortly after the shift into fourth, this second 335i peaked briefly at 299.93 hp." - Automobile Magazine

ThinkEntrophy,

Are there different kinds of Dynos? I'm not downshooting your numbers, professionalism, or expertise. You probably know much more than I. My question from my last message was sincere. What would 287 hp equal to the crank? Approximation? Thanks.
