Fun but unwanted slippy-slidey!

Over the last couple of days I've noticed that my e92 is much more 'mobile' going into tight, low speed 90° bends, and with a little prod of the throttle it will wash wide and swing into oversteer very readily.

Checked the tyre pressures there and they're grand. Key info - 2 weeks ago I hit a fairly wild pothole with both passenger side wheels. Didn't feel any change in handling in the week after, it's just been last couple of days.

Is it a possible alignment issue, or a damaged suspension component? Will be heading to mechanics tomorrow but just checking here first in case anyone has prior experience!

Thanks!

Does it handle the same left to right?

If you put it into a tight right does it behave the same as a tight left? If so then it could be possible that tyres are on the way out.

If behaves different, something is bent or out of alignment.

Funnily enough mine's been slipping and sliding the last couple of days to the point where nearly every junction I've pulled out of the DSC kicks in. I put it down to a build up of salt and grit on the roads which is laid down every night but we've had no rain to wash it away.

I've not driven by e90 for 2 weeks now but have noticed the increased slidiness of the roads on pedal-power on the way to/from work. My guess was the same as this - salt build up with no rain.

Could be bent wheels... I've just found out that 2 of mine are buckled.

Get it checked over, I wasn't charged for the check (by Blackboots in Chesham).

Will get them to check the tyres and alloys out first, and then the suspension alignment.

It's less one direction than the other, but the lack of grip seems to start with what feels like almost a rolling over of the front tyres followed by the rear swinging round.

My wife said the same about here E90 and I have noticed it when I drove it, its got Michelin Alpin 4 tyres on and still feels different. Just put a full new set of Bridgestones on mine today and still though mine felt slippy on low speed corners and pulling off. Must be the weather.

Hmm, maybe, it's been a warmer couple of days here though.

A wee thought has just occurred to me however - I don't recall spotting the dsc light flashing during these slides. Maybe too busy controlling the car though.

What tyre pressures are you running out of interest?

Tyre pressures are 27psi front and 30psi rear - just what ever it said on the wee sticker on the driver side door opening.

Found out the source of my issues - rear toe arm eccentric bolt head had sheared off, allowing the eccentric washer to work loose. Not going to be driving until sorted!

My toe arm bolt came loose from the hub side and I felt that the car was moving around over even the smallest bumps. It also caused my wheel to touch part of the arch and gouge the rubber. Got some spare eccentric bolts if you need some!

Lol, flip, knew I shouldve asked you, I think you could start up your own e92 parts and spares business!

I've got a mate who used to work in BMW to order me up some with some other little things so should hopefully have them soon. Was actually just going to use it as a reason to do the subframe swap this week, but my prop is still not ready.

A fair few people of told me to open my own BMW indy garage. I do have a fair few spare bits due to various modding projects so give me a shout next time. Have you booked the car in with someone to do all the work?

Not so much booked in, as just sounded out. I have a couple of garages I usually go with, one for quick easy jobs who are very cheap, and a more expensive garage who are BMW specialists.
It's not a complex job, but my cheap garage seemed to think it was trickier than I did so I had a look around for somewhere similar, so have a few choices now.

I could've brought it to Idnan's independent BMW garage though!

Does it make a difference that I'm on non-runflats? I'll do a bit of research with the tyre manufacturers website!
