Map switching directions:

Insert keyfob and press start button to turn ignition on (lights on dash, but engine not running). Press and hold the gas pedal down to the floor for 4 or more seconds, and then release pedal. This puts the PBX in to listen mode. If you start the engine at this point you will be on map 0. For performance maps press the gas pedal to the floor and quickly release one time for each map you would like to select. For example for map 3 press and release the gas 3 times, and start the engine. Your map setting will be saved until changed. If you forget what map you are on, turn engine off and reset the map selection. When burning a chip map 3 is always selected by default.

Map Guide for PBX

Map 0: --Disables PBX, all signals pass through
Map 1: --30% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 2: --60% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 3: --100% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 4: --30% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 5: --60% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 6: --100% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 7: -- Throttle remapping disabled, performance tuning on

hey sorry,

but i might have missed this. BUT

i have to take my car in for a service due, and wondering if i have to disconnect the BMS module before going to the dealer?

I dont know how they would react if they somehow found that its plugged in.

if i recall correctly, mike said if your going for service for non engine related issues, such as cylinder replacement, you can just set the map to map 0 and it shouldn't be detectable. If your going in for cylinder replacement or something related to the engine, you have to take off the BMS module.

+1

For routine maintenance set to map0, but for power-train related warranty work I would remove it just to be safe.

I usually recommend not installing a tune until 1500-2000km, but you can install and just leave the tune off and throttle remap on and turn the tune on once you are past that mileage.

The break-in wait for a tune is much less critical IMO on the N52 then it is on the N54.

The transmission doesn't make a difference I think there are just more auto's out there then MT's.
