Lets talk offsets

OK I don't get it "offsets" There should be a sticky dealing with offsets as I couldn't find the answer I was looking for so I'm sure it has been brought up a hundred times before this. Could someone break down the basics of offsets? As a example for CSL's or M3 replicas would I want a 20 or 40 offset up front for a 8.5" rim and would I want a 20 or 40 offset in the rear with a 9.5" rim? I would prefer not to have to use any spacers and I would like a flush and aggressive stance.

I think zoolander gave you more info than this forum ever would. I googled as well when I didn't know about offsets. Learned all about it.

a perfect m3 offset on your e90 would be:

front et 28-30 on 8,5x19"
rear et 22 on 10x19"

So are the replica rims with a 20 and 40 offset positive or negative?

Positive. Most all cars run positive offsets nowadays.

He's not being a dick, he's telling you to stop being so gd lazy. Read a couple threads on here, read the technical data on tirerack.com and you'd be surprised how much you can learn by doing a little leg work
