Via the gas pedal map switching With the car on but engine off, you hold the gas down for 4 seconds to engage the map switching option and then you pump the gas once for map1, twice for map2, etc. Map0 will put the PowerBox on bypass mode so the car will be stock. (turns it off)

Is there something that will display which map you're running or will you have to figure that out for yourself.

As far as i know, there is no display, because all is attached to the ECU. But I'm wondering when you turn off the engine (lets say after setting it to map 3), does it reset to the default mapping? or does it stay at 3?

Okay I do understand the 1 hp gain is peak for the 325i. But it seems they just through in the BMS 328 tuner into the 325 and called it a day?!?! I expect to see peak to be higher (around +3hp) as well...

What gains will I see with this, HP wise. I got a CAI and a BMW performace exhaust installed also, I guess that will add a bit to the HP gain.

You are looking at about 10 from the tune and whatever your other mods add to the mix. Should be a nice noticeable power increase as well as a remapped throttle for added fun

Average gain on the 325 was around 5whp under the curve, and as much as 10whp in spots. Peak power doesn't really mean much unless you race your car from only 5900rpm to 5950rpm.

How easy is it really?

I know that it has been asked how easy it is to install this and the general answer has been 45 minutes with no special tools. But let's assume that someone (like myself) with little to no knowledge about cars but can follow written directions reasonably well, how hard would the install be? I don't even change my own oil if that gives you a baseline for my aptitude but I would really like to have this tune. I assume you have to locate something under the hood and hook up the bazzillion wires to the ECU (which I don't know where it is at either). I am just trying to get an honest assessment. I don't want to get this tune and then not be able to hook it up! Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Its 7 wires and not hard. If you go real slow I would say maybe an hour from start to finish. There is nothing hard, just need to take your time and follow the directions and you will be fine.

It took Terry about 10-15 minutes to install it. Anyone who is comfortable working on cars, can do it in the same amount of time. If you have no experience working on cars, it would probably take you about 25-30 minutes.

Just be patient and follow directions
