Google maps 'send'

Don't know if it's me but the 'send' option has disappeared from locations on google maps???

I used it a few days ago, went to google today to send a new location to the car and no 'send' option??

Anyone else noticed this?

WTF! I used this Tuesday(click on the location and then send)

They cant have removed this permentaly- they have an agreement with BMW as part of connected

Thought I was having problems - used it last week, said 'message not sent', so tried it a few times with no joy. Then got the same address three times when I updated in the car. Tried to send a couple of addresses last week, looked like sent ok, but not receiving when updating.

Wow, I thought it was going to be a UK thing, but "send" is gone here in the States as well. Thats strange.

Thats good news, I would have expected this not to be just withdrawn without and alternative service in place

You can send from Google Maps? I've been using the map on the BMW conect website which is really rubbish.....

works from any waypoint on googlemaps - its a top feature and hopefully sorted soon.

Once the send button comes back, how does it know where to send the address? Does it give you an option at the next stage to enter your BMW username and password?

Or, do I have to sign into BMW first?

My Google maps says 'Email' where the send button should be (watched a youtube vid of someone doing it). I don't ever remember it saying anything other than Email......

hadnt realised that "send" had disappeared. incidentally i noticed a couple of weeks ago that you could now select audi as well as bmw under manufacturer. i wander if they are adding another manufacturer.

No you can send anything, business address, postcode, even a grid point.

As an example this is the grid ref for the car park at BMW UK in Bracknell.

51.407804,-0.769861

If you can select it on google maps you can send it.

Am delighted that it's not gone for good, it's a cracking feature.

You can still send addresses to the car through the BMW connecteddrive website here:

It doesn't have the full google maps functionality, but I think its not bad and will probably do until the send feature in maps is back again.

When you press 'send' it opens a new dialogue to select what/where etc to send to.

You just need your BWM connected username i.e joe.bloggs - that's it. No password or anything.

Is it available in the US?

The connected drive features on LCI pro nav cars (3 years subscription free from new) allow you to do various things including send map details and free operator services etc.
