335i N55 DCT Test Drive....WOW.....

Will be changing the car this year and was set on getting the M3, however, factoring in all costs and the missus just finding out she is pregnant () I have decided to look at the 335i. Driving a 335d at the mo and the car is no slouch by any means but the 335i felt completely different, the 7 speed DCT is amazing, couldnt feel any gear changes and extremely responsive. Whilst there is no shove like in the d the power delivery was relentless and after 4k rpm the engine came alive. The car only had 350 miles on it so was still pretty tight.

Heart is set on one of these now so time to get looking around for a good deal. Looking to order from brand new so will be looking for some good discounts. have been looking on broadspeed and at the mo i dont think that any dealer is going to be able to offer me the kind of deal that they can.

Has anybody had any experience of them, or experienced any issues after sales?

Have you tried a dealer? I don't think so from your statement. Dealers WILL match or beat any quote, they need to sell cars.

I just took my 15% discount Broadspeed quote in and the dealers beat it in 5 minutes.

Did the same for my old e90 in 2006 too.

That was 15% off the full list with options, delivery etc and VAT, not the 'car only' discount you often get offered.

As for brokers / introducers like broadspeed, they don't actually sell you the car, they source it from a 'secret' dealer with whom they've agreed back-handers then you pay the deposit to the broker who passes it on to the dealer. The dealer then contacts you forthe rest of the purchase / delivery process and your contract is with the dealer - the car is delivered to you from that dealer.

So you still get a dealer car anyway, so why not cut out the broker and get the full discount yourself?

cheers for reply, I only really started looking at it yesterday and had a rough price, broached discounts etc and was given the usual 'sales are starting to pick up now blah blah blah' going back tomorrow with my broadspeed quote to see what he thinks of the broadspeed quote and if the dealer can match it.

If they can do anything obviously will try another dealer, i was just wondering if people had any bad experiences/issues when using broadspeed to source the car/dealer.

Not in a major rush to purchase, want it ready for new plate in september

The 335i with a DCT gearbox is indeed a great combo, there has been a couple of software updateds for the gearbox, but nothing major.

Let us know how you get on with the dealer. I have the dct on mine and it's an absolute peach, it doesn't seem to stop accelerating when you change gear.

If not already part of the deal, try and push them for the Service Inclusive Plus, as the cheaper pagage doesn't save so much money, on cars with 20k service intervals

What's the service inclusive plus? I just got 5 years free servicing with mine. Don't know if this is the plus or not.

Tbh I didn't really see the point of the plus, in reality all your getting is a set of discs and pads for an extra £1k, I won't keep the car long enough to worry about them so didn't push for it and pushed for a few other bits.

Buyacar.co.uk seem very cheap. Standard E93 335i DCT for £37,111 built to order.
They register you as a second keeper for additional price reduction.

just had a look on there and the same spec that i want is coming out at £40,864 not including a service pack so would keep it with the dealer.

Trying to sort out my car whether to trade in or sell privately, i cant be bothered with selling it as i dont want to be lumbered without a car, but on the other hand i dont want my new car to be delivered and and stil not having sold the 35d, dont fancy paying for both of them! They are offering me crap on the trade in and would end up having to chuck in more money (dont want to) or taking a neq eq loan to cover it.

Decsions, decisions! Hope to have it all sorted and ordered by the weekend, will then be a long 6 months waiting for it!

Well if it's thrown in the deal for nothing, what's too lose?, + it add to resale value.

It's not something I required so didn't bother pushing for it. I don't think it would have a great deal of affect on the trade in price in 3 years when I change it again
