They are no more hazardous than some random dude playing with his cell phone or a dumbass blond putting on her makeup behind the wheel. Stance guys (at least most of them) are most careful drivers out there. I mean after all, a small dip may total their ride

Caution has little to nothing to do with it. We're not debating the quality of driver, just the quality of parts and build.

That said, insane amounts of camber while driving changes the geometry of the vehicle and can make it insanely dangerous to control. Last year we ran the Autobahn North Track with the Eisenmann F80 M3 that was running a full on "stance" setup for a photoshoot. Afterwards the driver told us that it ruined the M3's handling and made for a super sketchy drive out on the track. Here's video of us coming up on it around the 1:10 mark (note how it hardly stayed on the track around 1:23). And here's my contribution to the thread... a stanced Power Wheels... ha! |

heres a good one! dam those stance guys being innocent bystanders. the guys in the camaro are the big meat tire crowd that just seem to always have something to prove on the roads.

This saddens me because I had a very nice 300zx twin turbo back in the early 2000's. It's one of the boosted cars that got me interested in the automotive community, and the 300zx could be beautiful for years to follow after it ended production in 96'. They were 300/300 from the factory and with a little work could make serious power not unlike the n54 and n55 engines. They were a little less refined but had a great community following similar to our cars.

The whole stance thing needs to die. It does nothing other than damaging a car. When a car slammed so low and needs to slow down the entire street of traffic just because he is crossing a relatively flat road for other cars is just ridiculous. I don't understand these Californians. There are ton of videos out there like it's a stylized culture and they make them into a movie.... wow so cool. Not. I don't understand the point of a whole bunch of guys watching a car scraping on chassis components and oil/transmission pans.

-Choda He didn't say for the owners of these cars to die, just for the fad to die. The fad is ridiculous and unsafe. How these jokers can drive on public roads and not get arrested for public endangerment is asinine. Intentionally scraping the undercarriage/oil pan/fuel lines/etc of ones vehicle on public roads while running 35* of neg camber with tires that don't bead on the rim properly makes about as much sense as dragging a cinder block behind the car on the expressway. Fortunately like all horrible fads, this one will eventually die and be laid to rest with spinners, fiberglass body kits, underbody neons, and 747 airplane wing spoilers. |
