I'll do this from a third person perspective

You would need to recode the CCC and enable the option to display that menu.

Unfortunately this is not my photo : (

This photo is from Russian BMW forum and the guy, who made it is making money with retrofiting cars, coding modules and so on, so I don't expect any detailed instruction to come. This photo is giving us hint that retrofit is possible

But I've checked ETK by myself - looks like there's no separate CIC-CID cable, but it's part of instrument panel Wiring harness, p/n 61 11 9 186 530 if you do not have heated steering wheel and 61 11 9 186 531 if you have. This is US model part numbers, I can look up ECE numbers if somebody will need them.

I would assume that the HD monitor cable is the one in that instrument panel harness, correct?

If so, what about the USB cable?

Where is CIC USB port located? Under the armrest? Then I don't see it changed, the same part number as from 03/07.

No, the USB cable that I'm referring to is for the CIC up/download USB port in the glovebox.

Thank you very much... can you see any specific reference to the -171 monitor cable anywhere in the ETKA, TIS or WDS wiring schematics as being the HD monitor cable for CIC?

According to BMWNA, that cable is only available as part of the harness.

I want to make sure that it is in fact the CIC HD monitor cable before ordering; it is only $35 but I just want some reassurance.

Well...

It's started from 09/08, it's fits car without CCC but with Navi Professional, and it's the same number on the picture as "Connecting line CCC / CID" p/n 61 12 6 935 686.

So it makes me believe that this is CIC-CID cable and that's why I've missed it from the same beginning : )

You can see it by yourself here:

Yes, I saw it there however BMWNA keep saying that there is no such P/N for the individual cable.

I'm ordering it to really find out...

Can be possible if anyone here can translate just the important/technical posts in that Russian forum thread that directly relate to retrofitting the CIC to a CCC vehicle?

Thanks...
