My long journey has ended finally and my car is finally here somewhere at VPC. For those of you getting your cars from South Africa know it will be longer. It took 79 days from order to get to PH most of the time on the water.

Congrats!

My ship is arriving in Bremerhaven tomorrow and will arrive on the east coast April 2. My ship left Durban March 8, so yes, it's quite a voyage, even longer for those like you on the west coast.

Waiting for a vehicle from SA was a pain, but it's nice knowing our BMW's are of better overall quality.

Hopefully you won't have to wait much longer now!

Thanks yes it is a long journey yet worth the wait. What ship is yours on that left Durban? You must have ordered a sedan too.

Well I'm glad that you found your car.
In your post last night, it sounded like your baby fell asleep and missed its stop.

Mine is on the Utopia Ace, it's going to the east coast, so I won't have to change ships at Bremerhaven, and yes I got a sedan too. My ship is departing Bremerhaven tomorrow and arriving at a port in New Jersey on April 2, so it'll only take a week to arrive on the east coast. The waiting is finally about to end!

Haha...yea I got Monaco Blue too.

The cars are supposed to come with their paint, but they've got this layer of "cosmoline" on them for protection which needs to get washed off at the VPC.

Here's an old link with pics from the ship and VPC:

Thanks just got it Tinted on Tuesday and looks great I have to get someone to take pictures and to post them. The first thing I did was take off the Dealer plates I do not like to give them free ad. Put on my old BMW plates from my 530 and I am all set. So no one knows where I bought it.

Yea, I'll probably do the same with the plates, this is my first bimmer though.

I don't know much about tinting, is there a percentage you get it tinted?

Bet it looks real good, are you doing any detailing? I'm not sure if detailing is even necessary on a new car.

I guess most of the guys here bought there cars so they could do all the things they want yet when you lease it is really wasted money because in 3 years you turn the car in and get a new one. One draw back to leasing.

I got my car pretty dark tinted.
