The moonroof is now an option on F30s?

Jesus, I didn't know they could make the base-model 3 series any more lame.

Am I missing something? Can you really get a 3 without sunroof now?

Maybe that's the case, but I'm not sure how I'd find out. It was an option on the M3, but I assumed that was because for a performance car lots of people don't want the extra weight and loss of rigidity (argue how much difference it makes, but you know). But I've certainly never seen a lower E90 without one, and I generally only look at the lowest end of the price spectrum.

EDIT: Looking back through some threads around 2007-8, I think the sunroof was an option only in markets outside the US.

I would kill to be able to get a wagon without a sunroof. I have ZERO headroom in my car. Sucks to be long of torso. I love the idea of a sunroof, but in practice it is literally a pain in the neck for me. And believe it or not, my gigantic '01 Range Rover is even worse than the e91.

But no, you are not missing anything. In most cases, the sunroof was an option on most e9x's other than the e91. A few years and models had it standard (335i's mostly), but usually it was either a stand alone option or part of the Premium Package.

My ex-2010 E90 328i 6AT didn't have a sunroof or any option for that matter. I actually liked not have a sunroof. It may be my mind playing tricks on me but that weight loss made a little bit of a difference when accelerating. One of my friends gave me a ride in a E92 with sunroof and every goodie possible in it. I actually felt the weight difference even when not pushing the car past 3k rpms.

With my car now, I'm trying to find a use for it and I'm just forcing myself to use the glass roof. I guess, it's nice to drive with just natural sky light in early mornings.

That's the way it used to be and that was a good thing as not everybody needs the shorter roof additional weight...They got something right.

It was an option on the E90 as well. Every rented an E90 from Hertz? No sunroof, power seats, auto-dim mirrors, seat heaters, etc.

It was always an option, just the dealers never carried them.

In all honesty, I feel like I can do without a sunroof. I rarely ever use it but I guess I would miss it if I didn't have it since I wouldn't even have the option to open it.

believe it was standard on early e90s, but became in option in '09 with the LCI. I remember a few threads about the standard features that were removed on the LCI models and became options. The power moonroof was one of those.

That is true, I order my E90 right before it was schedule to be built and I did not want a moon roof and they told me it was not a option to remove they all came with it. I was not happy at the time since I was special ordering mine the way I wanted it and they could not remove it.
