Jesus, I didn't know they could make the base-model 3 series any more lame.
Am I missing something? Can you really get a 3 without sunroof now?

EDIT: Looking back through some threads around 2007-8, I think the sunroof was an option only in markets outside the US.

But no, you are not missing anything. In most cases, the sunroof was an option on most e9x's other than the e91. A few years and models had it standard (335i's mostly), but usually it was either a stand alone option or part of the Premium Package.

My ex-2010 E90 328i 6AT didn't have a sunroof or any option for that matter. I actually liked not have a sunroof. It may be my mind playing tricks on me but that weight loss made a little bit of a difference when accelerating. One of my friends gave me a ride in a E92 with sunroof and every goodie possible in it. I actually felt the weight difference even when not pushing the car past 3k rpms.
With my car now, I'm trying to find a use for it and I'm just forcing myself to use the glass roof. I guess, it's nice to drive with just natural sky light in early mornings. |

It was always an option, just the dealers never carried them.

In all honesty, I feel like I can do without a sunroof. I rarely ever use it but I guess I would miss it if I didn't have it since I wouldn't even have the option to open it.

believe it was standard on early e90s, but became in option in '09 with the LCI. I remember a few threads about the standard features that were removed on the LCI models and became options. The power moonroof was one of those.
