Bluetooth not working, HELP!

So I recently purchased an E90 330i, it has bluetooth, I checked the mulf unit and it seems to be in working order, the only problem is on the bluetooth menu it doesn't let me activate it.

The checkbox where it says "Bluetooth communication active" I press it and nothing happens, this car also has a denison 500 fitted where the CD changer is and I believe this is interferring with the bluetooth module, is it just a case of removing the denison?

Any help is appreciated.

Denison has a switch that allows you turn off the Dension
phone function. Which means you can still use the other
Dension functions and still use the factory phone if it works.
Maybe the previous owner put that in because
the Mulf functions broke or preferred the Dension .
I would try to find the manual on the dension.

You could get a most jumper to bypass either the Mulf or
Dension for troubleshooting .

I ordered another mulf on eBay, and checked to see if it would work but all that did was make a CCC idrive insanely slow. I think I will remove the denison and all its wiring and go from there.

I think you are making a mistake removing the Dension.
Also you can't just throw a mulf in it has to be programmed
for your car. Do you have the necessary software and cables
for that?

Yes I do have the software and cables, I am familiar with coding, I can use NCS expert no problem. May I ask why it is a mistake to remove the Denison? I have no use for it?

It doesn't, only DAB which is quite unreliable/ USB connection and iPhone. I only have an android phone and have a cheap Aux bluetooth receiver which is enough for me. More than anything I want the phone calls over bluetooth over everything.

Also I believe the most connector to the mulf is connected to a loop, does this make a difference? Sorry I don't know much about wiring.

If you are saying it has a Most Jumper bypass that may be
the reason it doesn't work.
Every active device on the Most Loop has to be connected into it.
Pictures might be good.
When people want to bypass a device they typicaly put in a Most
Jumper then program it out.

Okay that helps a lot, so should I connect the most connection from the Denison to the cd changer if I still have it, and program it back in? have a link to the coding necessary?

So I've checked the most wire here it's getting signal as can be seen from the light, thing is whether I plug it into the Denison or into the loop I can't get the most wire at the MULF unit to light up.

any ideas?

disregard my last post I just needed to turn the ignition on for the light, after plugging the MOST connection into the MULF I check the MOST connector in the glovebox and the light is on indicating my mulf is functioning, totally lost now

On my iDrive I can't check the box "Bluetooth communication active"

If the guy that had it before you did some Most Bus rerouting
that might explain the no light at the most connector behind
the Mulf.

There is a Most Hub where all the stuff going to the Trunk comes
together its usually behind the US passenger side rear seat side bolster.
This is where the loop to the other devices is established.
If you look in those links there are pictures or it.
You can shine a light down the fiberoptics and you will be able to
see the light come out of the other end if they are good.

You have a Mulf connection in the glove box?
Don't know about that one and does it have a way to terminate it.
As there is a test point in the front of the car where the Most
Bus can be accessed but no other devices in front. Everything the Most
Bus is connected to is in the Trunk Area.
Mulf , TCU , Sat module and CDC and L7 amp are all Most devices and
all in the Trunk Area. All the fiberoptics for those meet and are strung
together in the Loop at the Most Hub. Unused option have there Fibers
optics lines stored on the lower Most Block and are not in the Loop till
someone physicaly moves them to the top Most block.
