I think I have downloaded the lastest Itune on the laptop but dont actually know, still wont sync saying phone needs 10.5, how do I download that on the phone?

mm.. i don't think you should perhaps have an iPhone

do this:

1) launch iTunes (the one where your backup is kept)
2) go to help -> check for updates
3) download and install the update if required

4) plug in your NEW iPhone
5) click the large 'RESTORE' button on the main window
6) choose the backup you made previously
7) wait for it to restore your backup

8) profit

Following this, and i can't stress this enough, set up iCloud backup and you wont have to deal with this again.. it will just do it over the air (wifi)

Tried all that and still not downloading. Its downloading in a firefox download box then I cannot use it.

Severly pissed off with this apple shit now.

This new phone is a POS.

The bluetooth symbol only comes on when on that page, then disappears when you come out of it even though its on.

Wont verify my hotmail account..

hmm.. why is it downloading in firefox?!

you doing it wrong if when launching iTunes it started downloading in firefox... that is not how the application works.

it will download it within the application, alternatively if you went to the iTunes website and downloaded it then yes it will be downloading in your prowser..

Carl, open itunes on your computer.
In itunes at the top, there are 7 options and click on 'help' (last option). When you click on it, another tab appears and click on third last from the botton 'check for updates'.

If there is any updated version of itune, it will prompt you and you can update your itune.

Once done, you can connect your new iphone to itunes, and itunes will ask you
Do you want it to register as a new phone or you wish to restore it from previous back ups.
Go for restore from previous option, and it will show you all of your back ups. Select the most recent one and it will take couple of minutes before everything get restored.

Hi Makkan, and thanks for the advice. I have tried what you have suggested several times. It just opens up a link to the website.. Which I enter my email address and click download. A little box opens up saying "downloads" it thn downloads into there and cannot be opened?? WTF... I'm just do not get it.

I think the Bluetooth is screwed.

I turn it on and the symbol appears, go back to home screen and it disappears.

that sounds weird.. it should be greyed out atleast if nothing is connected..

i think you should good an appt at the genius bar, take your laptop in, and get them to restore it all for you.

it will be much less painful that way and you get all your stuff back.

there might be a charge though :s

I took a mission out yesterday afternoon to get the bloody phone. Don't want to go back....

What do you think is the Bluetooth issue?
