It's gone wrong. Again

Well, I'd fallen in love with my car all over again, and now I want to kick it out of bed, home and life... f****ng thing is driving me insane and I'm back to hating it agian.

The steering pull to the left has gotten worse, making the effort to turn right even harder. There's a vibration through the steering wheel which is just atrocious. The rattles are back with a vengeance, and the CCC has gone on the blink. Again. And it's a new unit too...

arrrrrgh... left two very spiky messages for the Service Manager at Sytners on Friday, he hadn't come back to me by yesterday afternoon so I called BMW UK and they have now waded in to the whole shambles assigning one of the UK Technical Managers to assert some control on the case. Even though BMW UK have spoken to the dealer, the dealer STILL hasn't phoned me back. WTF?!

Ironically, and this is what has set me off on the steam train called Anger, I just had a call from an offshoot of BMW UK asking me to answer some survey questions on how well my last visit to the dealer was and whether I was enjoying my car... poor bloke, I think he wished he'd called Robert Mugabe instead of me...

To be fair I've had decent service from Sytner in the Midlands over the last few years.

Having said that, if I were in e92fan's position I'd be giving the dealer a seriously hard time.

Sorry to hear of the continuing woes Tony. Glad to hear that BMW UK are taking it seriously though.

I'm actually so pissed off, I'm considering driving my car THROUGH the sliding doors at the dealers and parking it in front of the reception desk. Then I'd throw the keys at the Service Manager and shout at him to fix my car. Then I'd go to Audi, buy an S5, drive it to BMW, and tell them they can keep my car, 'cos I hate it that much.

Oh, and I've just come back from Avis because I've rented a Ford Focus. I'd rather drive that than the piece of shit that is my E92 right now.

I am totally gutted for ya!!!! That must be soooooo disappointing.

I am off to the dealers next Tuesday as the 'Anti-Trap function' is not working on my sunroof (as reported in the I-Drive) and my seatbelt butler is rattling like a b@$t@rd!!!

Make an appointment to see the dealer principle

If they won't let you have an appointment, turn up at the dealers demanding the dealer principle. They can't fob you off. Be polite don't raise your voice too much (i.e. avoid any way for them to call the police).

If you scare a few customers even better the sales manager will be on the phone to get the dealer principle or to get an appointment.

Talk to him/her and tell them what you want and tell him that BMW UK also have a complaint against his dealership. If he has any sense he will kick his staff into tow.

If it fails park outside the dealer - not on their property with a placards in the car stating the dealers name and stating scrap car for sale. I'm sure the dealer will react to this

It sounds like you have managed to get someone with some authority at BMW UK.

Ooooh, I forgot to mention why it's being trailored... steering pump failed. Started the car, couldn't turn the steering wheel either left or right. That was yesterday evening - tried twice, even left the car to go into sleep mode then came back and tried again. Couldn't get the wheel to turn. Called Emergency Services, who liaised with BMW UK and the dealer (don't know why they bothered) and a trailor was dispatched this lunchtime. Courtesy 5er arrived late this afternoon.

Tony that's the most depressing sight, seeing your car being loaded onto a flatbed. So sorry for you - hope it gets sorted as soon as.

No pics of the 520d auto?

Hope it's back soon. If bracknell can't sort it they ought to be delivering you a new one.

That really is very very terrible. In this modern age 'basic' components such as steering pumps should not be failing.

Hope you get it all sorted soon.
