Hi, I have just read that the e92 coupes from 2008/sept are equipped with the same DCT transmission as the M3s (GETRAG Powershift® 7DCI600). However when I drove a 10' 335i e92 last week and checked the transmission model\make out of the VIN number it was

ZF GA6HP19Z

but the owner told me that it has DCT but apparently this model is not dual clutch(not sure why the VIN decode website showed me the ZF one). So it just a matter what auto transmission you order it can be either ZF or GETRAG?

2010 MY 335is are N54 motors mated to ZF 6HP19/21 6ATs. The 19/21 is just nomenclature for the E9x vs E8x, the transmissions are identical. Your car does not have a DCT.

DCT only came in the 335is as far as I know.

The only guys that built the DCT box in both models are GETRAG. Nobody else did...

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I was talking about the European models... It seems that from 2008/2009 DCT was offered for the non-us vehicles

Yes that is correct, it was offered in the Euro market before it came here to the US.

Not exactly, we got a different DME, software and other misc hardware upgrades.

I am glad Europe was the test subject for the N54 DCT before it came here to NA

Fair points. But.
1. You have a DCT so you aren’t missing anything
2. Bottom line, they got a damn good dual clutch near half a decade before we did.
