335i

I just know I'd be a little envious every time I parked near an E9x. In isolation the E46 looks great, but parked up against the new stuff it starts to show it's age. Plus if a daily driver then the new car with warranty etc is perhaps the slightly more sensible approach. How many times can you say, "335i, the sensible choice?"

Is the M3 that much more of a car to take on a used one? I think I'd want to do like mikem if going that way and get a heap for the daily grind as well.

I think I should easily get an msport with nav, leather, folding seats and 6fl for under £35K

What else do I need?

335i was my choice; I really wanted an M and looked into it but at the end of the day I came to the conclusion that the E46 M3, while a great car, offers no greater performance than the 335i on roads I tend to use - it would be preferable if I wanted to track it but I don't, so the 335i is fresh, has new technology, better fuel economy and, in my experience thus far, can match an M3 comfortably in terms of speed.

I voted 335i, although maybe the best option would be to get a used M3 until the new m3 comes out...

New M3 won't be an option for quite a few years.

I don't want to spend much more than £35K on a car.

I'm amazed at the response 22 votes for the 335i and 1 for the e46 M3.

Next stop is a 335i test drive. I need to see if it is significantly better than my 330i.

Need, the 335i will blow your socks off. Its so much quicker than 330i. Those twin turbos are phenomenal and constantly on tap...

If supposed to be the only car: 335i ,no doubt !

Else: M3 all the way. (You will probably get a 2005 for that kind of money !)

Bombproof !

It's not even his 'big one' he's offering .... he's 'pimping' for his Carlos Fandango senior.

3 votes for the M3 now ..... but 28 for the 335i
