dude relax. shit happens! there's stories of people paying vendors here thousands of dollars on wheels and waiting like 5 months to get them with 0 customer service. Long has no obligation to help you, he only did it coz he wanted to help. he didnt do it as a vendor, he did it as a car enthusiast that thought he could possibly help make everyone happy.

long was going through a crap load of stuff with work, modding, and HE WAS GETTING MARRIED!!!! i would thank him to offer his help during the process of arranging for a big ass wedding.

you obviously cracked the piece when u were uninstalling it, even if u were careful. coz if it was cracked before you installed it you would have barked at the person who sold it to you before u put it on!!!

i dont like name calling and what's going on here, but dude posting threads like that is pretty low, IMHO. the guy only tried to help without being obligated to, and instead u do this. c'mon!

Of course, all this is assuming the overlay was defective to begin with, and if this is truly the case, someone owes the OP a new piece. I'm not saying it's Long, but the OP deserves a replacement if this is in fact the case.
Of course the cracks matter, maybe it didnt fit because he didnt install it correctly, therefore causing cracks that now make it so the piece wont sit evenly. Also the cracks were not there when he recieved them which means they are no longer in the same condition.

Lets use your example, so if the piece is 2 inches shorter and I return it with saw marks at the ends, whos to say I didnt cut the piece, now if I returned it in the matter that I received it, it is much easier to prove my case that the product was defective.

you win some you lose some....just suck it up op its just a 100bucks i guess your doing this for the principle of things, but i honestly do not think long is at fault here he was doing you a favor in which he didn't even have to do...

Long said specifically in our PM's that he doesn't think was cracked from shipping, so i didn't file a claim... now its past the time I am allowed to file one.

See my problem is that he SHOULDN'T have tried to resell that piece because it didn't fit right.

And I did contact Drew about the issue 1st and told him it didn't fit. He said he talked to Long and his way of fixing it was having me send it to long, and long sending me back a new one which long agreed to.
So was it crack when you got it from DREW or after you shipped it out?

Simple answer to this issue is "warranty is not transferable." If Long sold to "Drew" then Long's "warranty" would be to Drew, but then Drew sold it to you, so the "warranty" is completely voided from original manufacturer (Long).

Also keep in mind that buying anything on a forum from another private seller is like buying from Craigslist, or buying stuff at a garage sale...there is no such thing as "warranty" everything is sold as is.

So OP can either suck it up and learn to never buy from a forum private seller that you don't really know, or go after the private seller (Drew) who actually sold the product to you and not the original manufacturer (Long).

*******Disclaimer*******
I have never bought anything from Long.
I don't know Long personally. I'm not
defending any one party. Take everything
I say with a grain of salt. Thank you.

Bottom line -

If the part is defective, who ever the vendor is owes the OP a replacement or a refund.

If the part was not defective, the OP is a liar and deserves nothing.

Now which is it?

ok so what you are saying is that even though Drew posted in his FS thread "I am selling this FOR long as a favor"... Long is not responsible at all for the product whatsoever???

nobody will ever know because Long couldn't find time in the month and a half to take 10 min to test fit it, busy or not (which I understand he was... I'm not unrealistic in thinking someone isn't busy leading up to a wedding, but again... it takes 10 min to test it out which is disappointing to hear Long is always helping out everyone yet I don't get the same kind of treatment).

ok... easy there e-thug. nobody cares if you act tough on e90post. Like I said, you're just making yourself look worse. and no I won't just take a $100 loss and suck it up... I didn't do anything wrong to deserve to donate $100 to the Drew/Longtran fund. Maybe you're one of those great spoiled kids we all love to chat about on here that has everything handed to them, maybe not but I am certainly not. I work hard to be able to afford my car and nice things for it so $100 to me is another mod or part of one I could be getting for my car or putting towards my payments. Apparently they don't teach "principles" on the streets.

I don't really think all that is necessary. Most of us here know the type of personal attention and great service Long gives his customers and we all like to stand by him, but I think you're doing more to hurt Long's standing credibility by lashing out the way you have been in your posts. No need for the verbal mudslinging.
