snapping noise when braking
recently, i've been noticing a snapping noise coming from the underside of the car when i brake to a full stop. after i hear the noise, it takes a while until it can be replicated. also, probably irrelevant, but my brakes started squeaking around the same time this noise started.. anyone know what can cause this snapping noise? thank you

Something is loose.
Bolt holes are always a little bigger then the bolt that fits in them (so that its easy to get them in/out) When a bolt is very tight then nothing moves around. If the bolt is not tight enough, and you put enough load on the part, the part will shift from one side of the bolt hole to the other. When it hits the other side it will "clank" If you got a brake job done then they assembled the brakes incorrectly or bolts are not tight enough. |
