When is the exhaust flap activated...meaning when is it closed? start up and......idle across all engine temps? Even my mom noticed it when I started her up when I got it. She was like why does your car sound like that and why is only one exhaust tip emitting fumes? I'd like to hear it with the flap disabled. That might discourage me from stepping on the gas hard every time I drive haha. I am losing the battle against mpg on my first tank.

The first tank is always brutal. Back in 2000 I went two days on the first full tank
There are threads specifically for the golf-tee mod, do a search. I can't tell you at exactly what points the flap opens; WOT, 4500+RPM, something like that. The critical info is that it's closed at idle (all temps), cruise, and moderate acceleration. Basically, it's usually closed.

You gotta do redelivery first man
Slapped on the painted reflectors today. Wanted to wash the wheels but the wife and son came home so play time was over... Friggin wheel dressing that the dealer uses gets everywhere, frack!

I finally got to wash the wheels (and entire car) today. Truthfully it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. They definitely take longer than the 230's I had before, but the only difficult part is cleaning the thin slit between the double spokes. I was able to stuff my dedicated wash mitt in there and get them clean, but some kind of tool would be better going forward. I think I got spoiled by the 230's, those were ridiculously easy to clean. I had a 2010 M-Sport on order, but BMW stopped production by the time the dealership got a production slot - so my SA was nice enough to order an '11 "is" instead. What ship were you on? I was on the Undine and it landed in Halifax on May 31. It takes some time to get from the east coast to Toronto.

Just noticed one thing last night that does not impress me at all with this car.It has the same Bridgestone Re050a runflats with a 140 wear rating just like the 07 car had.We only got 11000 kms out of them on 2 sets before changing to non run flats.BMW really needs to do something about that!

^^^ Weird, I got Pirelli P-Zero RFT's.
I also got 60,000+ km on the front Bridgestone's on the '07, with something like 7/32 and 6/32 of tread left as of November last year. The rears didn't fare as well but I can't give exact numbers as they were both replaced (under warranty) due to punctures. Based on your avatar, it's probable that I'm not driving the car hard enough
