I've got one. Seems like something is loose underneath. If I decide not to be lazy I may try to take a look under this week. Seems like something to do with the adjustment that rocks the bottom of the seat back and forth.

Yes, Stereo installation tech didn't tighten down one of the front seat bolts all the way after they replace the sub under the seat.

Common problem. Theres a diy fix for it on the forum somewhere.
It a screw under the seat that loosens up over time. Edit: Ok so i found the site. It was on bimmerfest.com. My appoligies the issue was on and X3 but it seems exactly like our driver seat noise. Here is the thread http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=477639 Washer behind the nut gets bent and causes the nut to loosen. I havent checked for this issue on my car yet. But if anyone does let us know. Last edited by Wolf 335; 07-06-2013 at 02:03 PM.. |

Make sure there is no junk next to the worm gears.

Also if the seat was up and torqued down wrong it can put a bind in the the gear mechanism. Loosen the bolts and get it in a position where it goes back and forth smoothly and tighten the bolts while checking that things are still working smoothly. Do not over tighten. Requires T50 driver. |

I once heard a sound on my seat, some random module that clips onto the bottom of the seat was just hanging lose. I clipped it back on and it's been fine since...
