Your welcome. You must be a nice friend to have and stuff. Generally applied to as many applicable scenarios, learning about something first and doing it next seems as sound as it is common sense, especially with respect to installing downpipes on a 335xi. Most people who don't want to just pay someone else to do it for the many reasons there are to pay someone to do it would probably take the same basic approach.

I paid $400 for the install on my LCI 335xi. The shop had to do some extra adjustments for fitment and didn't charge more than the $400 estimate. It all depends on the shops experience and the pipes you bring and how well those pipes will fit without fitment issues. There's other DIYs in here where people who have done the install will testify to how hard it is.
