So to lay the groundwork;
• gf and I were supposed to move to Phoenix
• she ends it a week before the move because I wouldn't commit to marriage
• I move here on my own
• only person I know out here (Jeremy) knows both my ex and I. I start hanging out with him and his buddies
• 1 month later, she moves here
• she realizes her eff up and comes crawling back
• I explain I've lost trust in her, and am not sure if that's what I want
• we spend the next 2 months trying the friends thing (during which she says she doesn't want to push me, and if I need time, that's ok)
• labor day weekend:
I spend it in town with my family who came to visit
she heads to Mexico with Jeremy and his friends
• Monday: I can sense shit's off
• 20 min. ago: she calls "to be the first to tell me" she's seeing someone

While in Mexico, she started seeing one of Jeremy's buddies. A guy I've known since moving down here, who she just met 2 weeks ago, who knew she and I dated and that we were testing it out again.


I feel like I just got the f*cking wool pulled over my eyes, and want nothing more then to crack this kid.

Because I don't know what I want.
Spend time with her, and want to be back with her; then spend time with her and realize how glad I am to be done with her. She knows me better then anyone else (guess that's a given after 3.5 years), but she's a handful (and not in a good way... in a stressful, I have to fix everything for her way).

And you've realized already that you remember the things that annoyed you when you're hanging out as friends, so in a way your "standards" have changed for the better cos now you got a better idea of what you're looking for. Those feelings of wanting her back probably stem from you dwelling too much on the positive memories and pulling the wool over your own eyes to avoid the negative issues that do bother you.

Just ignore her, or say "congrats, hope you find happiness." You might not mean it but the message to her is: "I'm moving on, enjoy."

You're also focusing on Jeremy's friend. Don't. It takes 2 to tango and if she was "working on it" the same way you were, she wouldn't have done this.

Yeah, it's less the fact that she's seeing someone; more the fact that it's a "friend" of mine. I know it takes 2, but I lost any respect for this guy as well.

Sorry man, but unfortunately.....I would say that since this guy (Jeremy's friend) had no connection to you before you moved here then it's fair game. Not saying I would like it either, for obvious reasons. Not to mention if you all are in the same circle of friends you're going to have to see her with him on a regular basis.
