he just changed his oil.....if there was THAT much oil in his stock intercooler it would be literally overflowing into his charge pipes I would think.

catch can is a seriously good idea though, I need one on my new car bad.

i seriously doubt this is all from the IC. the stock IC have to be filled to the top to have those two bottles filled to the brink.

I'm sure those bottles also include the solvent which he used for cleaning/filling the FMIC.

No way in hell did all that come from the intercooler. As noted above that is probably oil mixed with degreaser which resulted in such large volumes.

THat did not come from the IC. Most of that is the cleaning solution.

A friend of mine, who is a BMW tech, flushed my intercooler. In BMW's infinite wisdom, the procedure was much more complex than it needed to be.

Front bumper came off (although I think you can do the flush without taking off the bumper) and I/C came off.

He used 2 liters of a "distilled water/cleaner" to flush the I/C. The amount of sludge that came out was surprising. The picture shows the result of the flush. We used seven gallons of distilled water to flush the system after use of the cleaner.
