You'd need to prep the surface first as the paint won't take to the standard chrome surface. Then primer. Then paint. Then hope the paint doesn't run and that it sits nicely in the groves.
Its perfectly doable on an individual basis but I wouldn't like to do it in batches. |

They're plastic with a sputtered coating. No preperation is needed with modern water-based acrylic paint. Several light coats should make it easy to avoid runs.

+1 I hate standard chrome one, so I de-badged my car. Looking at these, I fancy them, but cost + shipping + custome.... Forget it.

Ian: Awaiting reply. Would be awesome if you had a spare set or similar!
I'll give the spray approach a go if no other luck..

I'm pretty sure I still have the badges from my car - I'll post them to you if you want to practice your spaying first.

I do have a complete spare set, the same as the ones (Bimmian) that are on the back of my car. Unfortunately the fixing strips are missing, however some 3M tape,a craft knife, time and patience will soon have them gracing the back of your car. Let me know if you want them (gratis), and I'll pop them in the post for you (PM me your address). |

At the same time as finding the Bimmian ones,I found my originals. I scraped off the residue glue that was still on the backs of the badges from when they were removed. Quick rub down with some fine sandpaper. Cleaned off. Couple of coats of Matt black paint, followed by a couple of coats of clear lacquer. No more than two hrs inc drying time. All they need now is some double sided tape, and they'll look great on my Piano Black dash If anyone wants to do it,the quickest & cheapest route has to be buy the badges from the dealer and spray them yourself whatever colour you want. Far,far cheaper than getting them from the States. First one who wants them (gratis), is the first person who asks on the thread (no PM's) |

Raf I *DO HOPE* that is for a 335d and not for your current E90..
Ian, you are an absolute star! Two sets you've given away now! Top man. And I offered you moolah for the postage which you didn't reply back on. Madness! I'll make sure I buy you a drink at the next meet
