Buy some Jet black paint from either your BMW dealer or from Paintscratch.com. They will both match. BMW's will cost you more.

Most people with the Matte Black Grilles bought them.
I don't know of anyone who has actually spray painted them. . .
Might work but i dunno how long it would last. . .
I would think it would start chipping

I'd caution against painting the OEM ones, they will chip and pit over time so you will have to replace or repaint regularly. Our Matte Black Grills are made from an ABS Black Plastic so you don't run into paint chips or wear over time.

I painted my OEM grill. I used a high heat flat black spray paint from Home Depot that was made for grills, the kind you cook on.

I have a couple small chips in the paint so far, but I didn't use any primer or sealer. I just sanded and painted. I figure they are so easy to take off I can take them off and respray once a year.

I used the same paint on my emblem.

In that case, I would get a body shop to do it or we offer body match painted grills that would work. A spray paint will never produce the same gloss and finish to match your hood.

i have a jet black car and painted my grills. i used a gloss black paint and triple thick clear coat (4 layers), this was after sanding, cleaning it with alcohol, and priming. it STILL gets chips.

honestly, go with the ABS plastic ones. get gloss. you'll be fine.
