Suspension Teaser - M3 Content

Hi Guys,

I finally have assembled all the components for my upgrade!!

-Entire M3 suspension
-Rogue Rear Toe Arms
(http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=599447)

All of this will be in ADDITION to what I already have on the car:
-Quaife ATB
-M3 subframe brushings
-M3 front and rear sway bars.

Wheels/tires are OEM BMW Performance Style 269 19", Hankook V12 tires (235F/265R).

Car goes into VAC Motorsports next week. Also getting SS brake lines/Motul fluid.

I hope for this to be the ultimate (or as near ultimate as I can reasonably get) track setup. I also use this car as my DD.

I have not decided how much to lower the car yet so if anyone has input, I would appreciate comments of your experiences. Maximum I think I could go is 1 inch given the roads.

Talk to Harold about the ride height. I think you need different sway bar end links if you lower more than an inch. Post up some pics after install!

Also talk to Harold about the rear headlight aim bracket for the M3 camber arms. I'm almost positive that the bracket on the E90 factory arms won't fit the M3 arms, and you'll need it to finish out the install. Please post what you find out, I'm approaching the same point as you with your collection of parts!

Can't wait to see this happen! Good luck!

Yes definitely. I think one inch would be the absolute max for me to maintain practicality .... the M bumper is quite expensive. I will see what VAC says as well.

Thanks!

I actually have the M3 rear lower camber link kit from HPA which includes the correct headlight vertical aim bracket. It's wrapped in with the bolts in the plastic between the camber links in my pictures.

Well there you go! LOL

Thanks for sharing, I know I will need to get them when I get to your point - I'm planning to buy the coilovers from Harold, and I'm sure he'll allow me to buy the brackets for the camber arms.

Haha thanks! Feel free to stop down VAC on Sat the 18th if you want to see it, I should be picking it up that day if all goes according to plan.
P.S. I like your mod list. Those Dinan wheels look really slick (and light). Not something you see everyday, I never saw them before Mike posted a pic of your car on the alignment rack.

Definitely talk to Harold. I wouldn't buy coilovers anywhere else.

It's possible to make the M3 bracket work without modification. The original rod is reused, and you only need to buy the M3 bracket (the thingy that screws in to the camber arm).

It may be necessary to finesse the sensor outboard, I am not 100% sure. It *is* necessary to flip the rod around 180 degrees. Here is a picture of my car, installed. Taken from behind the left rear tire, it shows the sensor arm (top) fastened to the original rod, and below picture is the M3 bracket:

Damn, you are building your car up RIGHT! Great setup, I'm extremely jealous! If I wasn't saving up $$$ to buy a house, I'd be doing just about the same exact setup you're doing. Let us know how it all works out once everything is installed and dialed in (so that we can live vicariously through you).

I think your right. I made the custom bracket a few years ago but it may be the case that it is not required. As long as the sensor motion range is the same it should work fine or at least it is for you? I will give this a try myself...thanks.

Never accept a ride in this man's vehicle, it is a TRAP!

It's truly an amazing car.

Thanks turo - I will post a full review. A month after this gets installed, I have my first track day so it will be put to the test almost immediately!

thanks! when i was looking i almost picked up Le Mans Blue e90 m sport, didn't work out. weight was the biggest complaint i had about the car so the wheels def help (19/20lbs). cant wait to throw new rubber on them this spring. did the HPA Koni kit (got from Harold) which is awesome but you can tell there is improvements to still be made which is what i hope the m3 parts help with. the mod list grows slowly but surely

do they have est time it will be done, i would love to see it!

Wow. Very nice. Will be a lot of fun for sure.
Are you going to be running this on your current set up (hankook v12?)
I would think after you get this suspension setup, you would want to run a high performance tire to take advantage of all your goodies.
