Driver-Side Lights Remain On
So this may be a dumb question, but I've searched around and haven't found any posts regarding my issue.
This morning I walked out to my car (2006 325i w/ iDrive) and noticed that the halos and my break lights on the drivers side were on (this happened about a month ago as well, but I just let it go). Once you unlock and open the door, the lights turn off and its back to normal. Is this a problem that I need the dealer to take a look at? Or is it an indicator that something else is wrong (e.g. a door is not closed properly, or a bulb is out, or something to that extent..)? Luckily my battery wasn't dead Let me know if you have experienced anything similar. Thanks! |

From what I've heard its a safety feature on your car. You can intentionally do it by turning on the blinker(turn signal) to whichever side you want illuminated. So I guess check to see if you didn't leave your turn signals on.

+1, you can do it when you hit your blinker when exiting the car. From what I read its normal in europe to leave your lights on (on the road side) when your the last car in a line of parallel parked cars.

Thanks guys - Just tried that out. I must have been hitting the blinker on my way out by accident.
Wouldn't leaving your lights on like that kill your battery after a period of time? Or is there some kind of timer? |
