The best sandwich in jersey is Vitos hero sweet in Hoboken. Not the biggest, the best. Ranked one of the top 3 sandwiches in the country.

Why do you yanks call them sandwiches? Is it some sort of marketing ploy coz calling it a 'burger' is out of vogue?

The same way that people are heavy (not fat), mentally challenged (not retarded), or olfactorarily offensive (not stinky as shit) ?

A burger is a type of sandwich, if it uses some sort of formed patty and a bun or sliced bread it's a burger, it was orignally a ground beef patty on white bread and called a hamburger sandwich.

You've been to Louis Lunch in New Haven? http://www.louislunch.com/

Do not ask for any condiments. They'll kick you out if you do.

I can't remember the names of any of the stores, but those things will clog your arteries as good as any of the sandwiches pictured on this thread.
We Never Close is one of the best places in New Orleans. I highly recommend it but ask your physician to prescribe Lipitor or Crestor to take the week prior to going and the week afterwards, as well.

There was a place called Silvermine Subs on the UIUC campus that had a sub they called "The Kitchen Sink." It was their largest sub (12"?) with everything they sold on it. If I remember correctly, it was 2400 calories.

I used to grab their 9" subs 2-3 times a week until they started posting the calories on their menu. Dear God, talk about heart attack on a plate.

what's the best way to enjoy these sandwiches? Detaching one's jaw or smashing it down like Shaggy and Scooby Doo? Don't tell me disassembling with a fork and knife because that's weak a$$ $hit

Quite literally, you are supposed to eat it however you see feasible without dismantling such works of art.

Or, you can be a bitch and take it apart and make multiple delicious sandwiches out of one, because lets be honest, some of these are so fucking stupid it doesn't make any sense. Albeit, looks succulent, practicality standpoint is lower than Satans nutsack.
