Big lip on front rotors

So spirited driving is part of DD which makes my car a SDD. I was recently engaged with a CLA45 and a red light gave us the time to stop alert. Long story short; I had to turn the corner or go I to the middle of the intersection.

I feel like my brakes have never had this problem before. I looked at my brakes and they have plenty of meat on them. The front rotors however have a huge lip at the top. The rear rotors do not.

Regular driving the brakes are great. Higher speeds I'm a little worried about my ability to stop quickly.

Have I lost braking performance because of this huge lip?

Check the rotor thickness, they look thin and done to me (for what's an advice from a picture over the internet is worth). If they are thin, they will fade easier than normal and become dangerous if you solicit them a lot.

Normal. Still plenty of rotor to go. You probably over drove the car. Flush the brake fluid. If you did not engage the ABS then you did not hit the brakes hard enough.

I did not feel the ABS engage so maybe you're right. I needed to mash the brakes harder. I'm just used to those brakes being so awesome and never having to experience the ABS realm. That said, on past cars when the ABS engages there's that awful shutter.

Does the BMW ABS system give the same feeling with that strange feeling in the pedal?

I guess I can wait late night and try it out. I just don't want "her" to get bruised.
