The stock HU puts out (at max volume) a 5V signal to the hifi amp. That level of signal can drive speakers lowly, but is better fed as a pre-amp signal to an amp. What level of output does the pre-amp outputs from D99 put out?

When I moved mine there the GPS lock-on issue went away. The caraudiocraze location is a poor choice. Maybe it varies according to where you live or something, regardless higher in the dash with less between the receiver is always going to result in a stronger signal. |

And I also tried, Co-Pilot, Google Maps, Location Services, NONE OF THEM WORK? Can it be that the GPS reciever is faulty even though it detects the satellites but doesn't connect to any of them?

yes, dash top is the best choice, under the center grill is good too, sideways down in the dash is NOT a good place for reception.
The further forward under the windshield the better. I have mine in front of the grill on top of the dash, it looks fine, just a black nub, and it gets perfect reception. |

I still think my GPS antenna is faulty or I"m doing something wrong. Can't fix my above issue in anyway.

Haven't touched it yet today. My brother is comming over to help (he has a 135i), I've got alot of mods to do and finish today, but want to finish tweaking the D99, install the amp, and re-wire my paddle shifters today.
I also don't remeber hearing or seeing anything thru the D99 for my PDC so i'll have to look into that. |

Ok got the GPS to work, it just takes a while to load for some reason...
Everything is working, and it is definitely worth the price! I suggest people that don't have factory iDrive to get this.

Got mine working, got my paddle shifters working, got a new amp installed, all in all a successful day. Only problem I have now is when I put it in reverse i'm not getting the PDC screen (I have rear PDC) it goes to camera and I hear the beep, it was working earlier, then if you tap the screen it would go to the camera. I'll have to re-trace my steps to see if I did anything. I don't have a back-up camera yet.

Does anyone know how to upload Nav software onto the SD card? This is the Android Nav app that I'd like to use: http://www.sygic.com/en/android

yes still takes awhile. I downloaded an app so you can see which satalites it's using. also downloaded sygic navigation to give it a try until I can figure out how to tether to my i1 phone.
Also noticed the Dynavin HU puts out a small hiss, when the volume is at 1 I can hear it, if I hit the mute button it goes away so I know it's not the amp. |
