I believe I've been noticing my car running slightly warmer as well, and hoping it's not a bad thing. The gauge is showing the temp at almost half after the tune.

My e92 335 sounds amazing, really hauls more I find in the mid to high rpm's from what I've experienced ( as opposed to some of you... I'll update in a few days) and the exhaust gives one hell of a burble when I take my foot off the gas.

DAY 1. I like the sound and look of the new exhaust (bigger tips, chromed). I LOVE THE EXTRA POWER!

For $3k why didn't you go the Dinan route?

To get a tune from Dinan, additional hardware and their exhaust, it would run him way over $3k including warranty issues. The main reason people go with BMW upgrades is because it's factory-proof.

This is why I initially posted in the overall section, but I guess when they moved it here, it works as well. The tune brings the same result for both N54 and the N55, so people can expect the same results, hence why I posted it there. I believe the N55, with time, will surpass the common discussions of the N54 since all new 335i's have it.

Except , all new n55 are no longer on e platform

New n55 will be on f30 and so on

With exception of e92

Basically I'm saying
E90 n55 section won't grow

Because n55 will grown in completely different section
F side...

I see your point; that's true. But hopefully some F30 owners might drop by for our knowledgeable advice every once in a while, lol.

What should be combined is the N55 tuning forum for both the e90 and f30 platforms

Well, like soliditude explained, I chose that path for the warranty issues. I know Dinan guarantees their parts, bit I have a CPO with the new 200k warranty valid until 2017... I really didn't want to mess with that. I also liked the fact that fuel consumption was guaranteed not to increase and the car doesn't feel tuned... It just feels faster and sportier in a stock kind of way. My previous car was a 2004 Carrera and I never want to get away from that stock power, delivered smoothly and progressively. Also, for a little less than 3k, I got more than the tune and all BMW performance stuff like the exhaust an the CF spoiler. To me, that's worth a lot. When I want 400 horses, I think I'll change the car and buy one that has 400 horses on the sticker. But all the other tunes are soooooooo tempting with those high numbers...

I had PPK Stage 2 and car ran around 10 C warmer after the install. Between 120 - 130 C. Never past 130 C though , no matter how hard I pushed.

120 C was the normal operating temperature, I believe there is nothing to worry about unless you go over 130 C

A few weeks ago I had Evotech flash and still keep the hardware of PPK , I see lower temperatures compared to PPK.

The Stage 2 from Dinan is MSRP @ $2k. Dealers here are negotiable on price. The only other performance difference was the exhaust. Plus, with Dinan you get a lot more for your money and they pick up the warranty.

@mattdufrene

I guess the Dinan kit is very interesting. I'd be really happy to hear about it if you put it on your car.

Yeah, that stage 2 is only the software from them. The exhuast is another 2k, then the hardware under the hood is another 2k, whereas he got everything from under 3k with the PPK. The Dinan warranty is great, but just wait till an arguable component in your cars fails, causing Dinan to say it's BMW fault and BMW to say it's Dinan fault. You get more for your money with Dinan, yes, but you get even more for your money with all the other vendors like JB, Vishu and so on. Sometimes, less is more--there are pros and cons, and PPK is a conservatie, factory mod. Your Dinan-badged car will look a lot more abused when you're selling it as compared to a legit factory upgrade. The PPK doesn't win because it's more for your money, it wins because it has no other cons other than price, which, still, is fairly reasonable. Moreover, the PPK is a small boost upgrade whereas the Dinan tune is a fairly big boost upgrade, which is almost guaranteed to not be as reliable despite the warranty. It's all about what's important to you: Conservatively safe or hardcore?

I'm waiting to see some Cobb people here with the N55 here! Haven't heard much about it at all, otherwise.
