Navigation.. How do I?

Howdy,

For my 2007 328i with Navigation...

I can't believe it, but I've forgotten how to terminate route guidance while driving to a destination. Drove to San Franciso yesterday and could not make the system STOP giving me directions (even after I had parked the car, came back and drove home)

I looked on page 144 of the Owners Manual, but it doesn't specifically say which menu items to select to terminate guidance...

Help would be much appreciated.

In my manual, one way is on p.145:

With the map showing, select the extended arrow on the top left to access the icons on the left. Then select the second icon from the top (an arrow pointing towards the right with a dot beside it) and click on it. This toggles guidance on and off. (Off will put a slashed line through it, IIRC).

BTW, the top icon (a loudspeaker) toggles audible directions on and off - very useful as my wife claims "you'd rather listen to her than to me!"

There is probably another way to do it, but this one has always worked for me.

YES!!!
That worked, I played around with icon and it toggled off the route guidance. Thanks very much for your help!

Similarly, my wife claims that I "pamper" my 328i more than I pamper her. "Pampering" the 328i = regular washing, vacume, etc. Think we need to work on terminology.

Maybe if you regularly washed and waxed your wife she might stop complaining.

If you use modeling clay, she would be a beautiful model when you were done.
