JB4 Stage2 Boost Build up

Hi, I'm new to the tuner world, just had JB4 Stage2 installed on my 2011 N55 335i E93.

In Map1 under WOT, I noticed that the boost build up seems to be in steps: meaning it'll go to say 8 psi, stay for a little while and then jump to 10psi, then another "quantum" jump to 12 psi. It is not building up in a smooth way. Is this the expected behavior?

Thanks!

Could just be delay in how the car is displaying boost. How are you reading boost?

I was curious about this also. Mine will be at 10-11psi for a few seconds then jumps to 15 in the midrange, followed by a taper. Sometimes it does go to peak boost immediately though?

Garage List
log your runs. If you aren't logging them, then you don't truly know what's going on. If you don't know how to log, contact Terry @ BMS.

I imagine I'll need the USB cable for logging? I don't have one now.

A) Logging the car
B) Using an accurate/100% functioning boost gauge.

Only 2 ways that you will know truly whats going on.

Mine also performs the same way. You can feel the uneven acceleration. Map2 with a downpipe helps it quite a bit.

It doesn't feel normal but you should definitely log to see what's going on

Get yourself a P3 gauge- it's a bit pricey but it displays lots of good information- among them boost, throttle, exhaust gas temperature, air intake temperature, coolant temperature, battery, and 0 to 60 timer. It takes a vent, but also allows the air to come through and looks like it was made for the BMW.

I love mine and I use it especially for the boost numbers and 0-60 times
