Pre-ordered a 2010 335i Coupe / DCT coming???

Ok, so I pulled the trigger and "pre-ordered" a 2010 335i Coupe with all the goodies I currently have on my '07 335i + a few more!

So, here's the thing...the '09 335i in Europe has the 7-speed DCT tranny as an option, so I went ahead and had my CA add the 7-speed DCT tranny as my first choice tranny (with my 2nd choice being the same 6AT if the DCT is not available).

My thinking on this is that BMW will make the DCT available here in the U.S. on the 335i, since it's already available on the '09 335i in Europe and Australia, but there's been no word from BMW on this. In addition, there's more evidence that the DCT should make it into the 2010 335i, since BMW has already officially announced that this new 7-speed dual-clutch tranny (based on the M3's M-DCT tranny) will be an option in the soon-to-be-released 2009 (1/2) Z4 (although the new, redesigned Z4 may end up as a 2010 model though).

http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/12/13...ally-revealed/

Does anyone know for sure? I would think that with competitors like Audi and Porsche (and even Nissan has a dual-clutch tranny in the GT-R) having the dual-clutch tranny would prompt BMW to make it more mainstream here in the U.S. as well as Europe, at least as an option on cars like the 335i and Z4.

I want to order a 2010 335i too (heard rumors about them FINALLY having a new HPFP).

How much money did you have to put down to "reserve" the car?

$500 deposit; then, extended my current lease until my new one arrives...may even do ED and drive it on the 'Bahn.

No; didn't see much in that for the $$...don't want any carbon fiber interior stuff, already have much nicer and lighter, 19lb. Morr Alloys VS7 wheels, and I really only want the M3 rear lip spoiler. I might just add the aero front lip spoiler and "BMW performance suspension" as well. But, I really don't like all that much in the M-Sport package. I can always add it though when the 2010 335i option packages/accessories officially become available sometime this summer...IDK.

When does the coupe get the facelift? Shouldn't it be getting one in 2010, a year after the sedan?

Probably...3 years after it's initial intro in 2007. I do know it will have the new iDrive for sure!

$500, huh? Do you think the new 335i LCI will be popular enough in this economy to have to reserve?

I mean I'm not complaining, but $500 buys a lot of diapers...

I had to put a deposit on a '10 335i in order to extend my current 335i lease (the $500 wasn't a big deal to me, and it goes toward the new car anyhow); otherwise, BMW wouldn't have allowed me to extend the lease for 6 months (until my new car arrives). Technically, I'll be placing my order later this summer for a Sept, Oct. or Nov. delivery (depending on if I do an ED delivery or not).

Do the ED and you're in for a fantastic experience at Die Welt and on the Autobahn in addition to touring your chosen destinations in Europe. Just gotta do it!

if you are getting the facelift, I am sure you won't need aerolip because the front bumper will look different
