Is the MT knob somehow more convenient to use with Steptronic? I thought that MT knobs are usually designed for the typical MT kind of motion (i.e sideways as well as forward-backward), while Steptronic knobs are mostly for forward-backward motion, so there's not much point in installing a MT knob on a Steptronic car.

Or is it "just for looks" (i.e as RICE as it ever gets)?
So neewb, you trying to be funny or just stupid?

No, being a fresh "neewb" in the BMW community I obviously just didn't have enough time yet to get used to the fact that about 95% of it are just teens with rice for brains. No worries, I'll get used to it to the point of being able to ignore rice kiddies like you as ambient noise, just give me time... It is just something any intelligent person has to go through when they "join the club".

I've been doing that for a while now with the M shifter or DCT shifter retrofit

Looks a little tacky imo, I remember seeing the exact same thing on the Integra forums 10 years ago.

Its so much cleaner with the manual boot however it looked too plain to me with the OEM regular shifter. However with the Chromium or LCI knob its fantastic. I'll say if you a MT knob on a AT vehicle you're a cornball to begin with, not mention its dangerous as hell.
