E92 335i vs E92 M3, stoplight showdown
im gonna make this story short for the people who dont like to read. 335i by 100mph by a full car length!
i was running SSTT w/ K&N drop in, shell 93 about half a tank left, i was alone in the car, i am AT. it was a blue, manual of course, e92 m3, 18 inch rims, 2 people inside maybe 3, didnt really look in the back of the car windows. was waiting at the light and actually thought it was another 335i/328i, but saw right away that the noise it made wasnt a 3 series haha. but when i saw it was a M3 i was like OMG, took traction off and put it in manual mode, i acutally got really excited esp since it has been in the mind of the forums for a while. i actually didnt think he was gonna race, by 10mph he was still in first, i was in paddle mode and was holding 1st aswell, he gave it a little and shifted in 2nd, i was aswell agressive and followed him side by side, and shifted into second, he edged forward and i did aswell, then he just blasted the engine open and i went right after him instantly, the race was on, i jumped half a car right away while he shifted and then pulled about another half and by the time we knew it, it was 90mph and there was another stoplight so we stopped. one thing i noticed, the thing is loud, i swear the sound def owns the 335i exhaust 100x and the AT def owned the manual shifter and the driver haha. anyways i rolled down my window and began some BMW friendly talk, i wanted to give it another try from a dead stop to w.e. but the guy said, he didnt wanna beat on it too much more cuz he got less then 1k on it and he is still getting use to it. but it was such a quick race, from 2 fast cars, the AT and extra TQ from my SSTT 335i, def made up the low end jump and the AT def helped, wether or not he was experienced MT driver who knows, of course there is many factors. but it was fun while it lasted. glad i got to see what the new M3 can do. i still love the e92 m3 and my avatar will stay anyways enjoy the read and SSTT FTW. wow I feel bad for the m3 driver. He must feel crappy and it only makes it worse that he was with friends...I think after break in and he learns how to drive the m3 will fare better(not by a ton tho).

he doesn't have the full engine power yet if he hasn't done the 1200 mile break in service. keep an eye for him and get it on again in a couple of weeks when he feels comfortable pushing the engine

Trust me if you are shifting the same time he is and you are shifting at 6k +/- then he's not revving the engine all the way. Either way he doen't have all the engine's power unlocked.

... dude, hes just sharing what happened, not saying the driver of the M3 pushed it or not, I hate morons that come in threads to start an uproar. he said he heard the god damn engine at 8000~ RPM, were you there? no, so stop trying to tell everyone that the M3 didnt "unlock" the engines power.. You cant justify if wernt there.

Might be able to gets some videos of this soon. A friend and I are both selling our Cobras, I'm selling mine for a 335i and he's selling his GT500 for an M3. We'll surely be out playing around in them.
