you are going to have to custom make one, and even then, why put a 15" type r in there? 1st, its a terrible sub. 2nd, if you get a good 10/12" sub in the correct enclosure, it will blow that 15 out of the water.

Agree with everything here.

Get a good corner mounted 10" and itll make that 15" eat itself.

There aint no application in music industry that uses 15"ers today.
Large speakers are history. Under load they warp their cones and produce unharmonic overtones.

If you want to move air take two 10" or one 12" of good quality.

Boom boom!

Incorrect. Boat applications where you need to place the sub under the helm (common in wakeboats), the bigger the better as you can only run one sub - and open air environments require a lot of sub to go with them. In some large bass applications a good 15" sub is needed to match the rest of the system.

Sound deadener helps with rattling.

As for a practical use of a 15 in a car, there isnt one. A solid 10/12 can give you better results. For impractical, there are lots of uses for 15s or 18s.

I remember back in the late 90's early 2000's I had a 95 civic si hatch with one JL10W6 and an old school Orion XTR2250 and that shit used to shake windows and garage doors when I'd pull up lol.. When it comes to the beat down game, bigger isn't always better... Just as funny as it was to see peoples faces when that little boosted single cam ran 10's in the quarter, was that same face when they saw all that boom from one little speaker

I've seen a box for twin 10's in a F30 so I believe you could find something similar. 2x10=20 so that's obviously better.

Sell the 15. Definitely get a 10. Better yet, get 2 10's and do an isobaric box. If you've never had one or heard one, it will HIT.
Had one with two 10" MTX Thunder 8000's about 15 years ago. People would get in my car and ask "what in the HELL do you have in your trunk!" Thinking it was at least two 12's.

Definitely dynamat the shit out of your car.

If you want retarded bass that isnt balanced and will rattle your eyeballs, do something like this. 2 10s forward facing and seal it off from the trunk. Then power it with over 6k watts.

If you want balanced bass that can get loud if you turn it up, but sounds good and is more upscale, do this. Single 10 in a corner enclosure.

I used to compete nationally in SPL. Once you get past 145ish DB, it isnt practical to listen to on an extended basis. Maybe a song or 2. The biggest thing though, is the amount of supporting equipment you need from upgraded alternators and batteries to a ton of big wire. On my SPL Vehicle, I had over $5k in just batteries, alternators and wire.

Jeez.

Why dont you guys just give the guy options on a 15" enclosure and NOT rip on him for having a 15" sub?
He just said he already has one and wants to use it. Respect that.

If you just have to use a 15 go to a stereo shop and get a custom enclosure made. There are probably no prefab boxes produced. Unfortunately, dollar for dollar, it will be cheaper to use a 10 or 12.

Advising him it's time to let the 15" go is the advice he needs. It's too big, and to have a half decent custom enclosure made will cost as much as using a commonly available 10" enclosure and a good 10" speaker. Some could have been kinder in their choice of method of expression of this fact, however, it is the best and most practical advice under the circumstances. To advise him to go ahead and try to make it fit simply because he already has it, would not be doing the guy a favor, for reasons of practicality, cost, and quality of final result.

Great opinion ( for your tastes), but you do not share the same goals as him, therefore, your post is not the least bit helpful to him. I am also a SQ guy and have never run a 15" subs , this does not mean there is no place for them in a BMW. As a matter of fact, JBL's SQ winning system ran a pair of JBL GTI 15" subs if I remember correctly. I think a infinite baffle install of a single 15" may even be the better option for SQ.

Now to the original poster, if you have Amazon prime, there are several sealed enclosures available that will fit in your trunk for under $70 shipped that may work ( sealed enclosures are typically smaller than the required airspace for ported enclosures) Find what airspace the sub you have needs and find the one that matches your specs, grab it and enjoy your sub stage.

Because the advice he needs is that his current setup is crap.
