The xB I think? Toyota reliability so it will drive and be easy and cheap to fix, but it will be cheap and slow. I only mean to say this will be more of the same. Light, fun to flog, cheap to fix, reliable, but cheap inside, cheap outside, and slow.

If the point of the car is to be very slow, then no I got the point.

Motor Trend has it at 6.2 sec., the exact same as BMW lists for the E92 328i. And it's not designed to be a muscle car or luxury car. It's a light, nimble, fun, reliable, cheap-ish car with a great chassis (by all accounts). I think some of you guys are forgetting it starts at $25,000 and then oddly comparing it to the $45,000 E92 335i.

From my understanding, the point of the car is "balance" and not speed. Its really supposed to shine in the turns, not a drag strip. I guess if all you're really concerned with the 0-60 then that would explain your view on this car. All good tho. everyone has different priorities. It just seemed weird to me that someone with a BMW couldn't appreciate another car that is all about handling. |

Great handling cheap car. If you want the power (some of the time) for cheap...go nitrous.

I think people missed the point of this car. It's a balanced(just like the M3) lightweight(unlike the M3) sports car. That'll be a proper track tool. The BR-Z/FR-S are essentially lightweight versions of an M3(or what an M3 should be). Neither the M3 nor the BR-Z/FR-S are meant for straight line speed, balance is the name of the game and corner carving is where this car will shine.

I like it. I don't understand why people would compare them to the 335i since it is a completely different car. Although, I do agree with 250-300bhp it would have been perfect. On another note that picture in the OP is one of the best angles I've seen. I wish they stuck to the concept though. Production model looks cheap with those chrome lights.

Spotted a BRZ in the wild yesterday. Slightly smaller than I expected but a great looking car.

This is a very uninformed comment. It's a Toyota. My parents have had several and all have lasted well over 200k. My father still has his 1998 4Runner with 340k on the clock with one clutch and 2 starters constituting his entire repair history. Try doing that in your 335i.

It's funny when you consider that, not even a decade ago, when BMWs were always on the slow side when it came to acceleration numbers, the roundel fans always proclaimed that driving was more than just numbers, and that it was about balance and handling. It's easy to see what kind of crowd the move to F/I has brought over the past few years.
