Interior trim...want gloss black wrap or paint?
So as the title says its time for my burlwood to go (I have a white msport with black interior and the wood looks out of place IMHO) that said what will net me better results having my body shop (a1 in hb....Wayne is the best) paint the trim gloss black or should I have it wrapped? Being able to reverse it is of no concern to me so that's not an argument "for" wrapping.....
Thanks all |

I wrapped my interior trim gloss black a few weeks ago it was the first time I've ever used it and it was easy and came out awesome just a little time consuming

wrap is reversible. check out metrorestyling for the vinyl.

too bad my son is not a couple years older (he's 12) or I would task him with the project (and give him the car for a week in exchange)- I'm not going to take the time to wrap it myself - would rather write a check and have someone else held accountable (other than me) if something gets screwed up or doesn't turn out correctly

So back to my original question can you offer insight into one vs the other.... keep in mind in my op I stated reversibility is a non-issue to me
Ps in terms of engine swaps I've done those....just not vinyl and in both cases at this point i would be writing a check |

the vinyl wrap will come out nice, but obviously nothing ever beats a high quality paint job. Dont pay more than $300 to have it wrapped. depending on how much they are charging you for paint, the decision lies therein. Not a huge difference between the two if you assume they are both done right

burn it to the ground or sell it to someone who will take care of it!

Yeah I think so....but I applaud your attempt to go with something new vs running straight for your oh so typical carbon or brushed interior wrap

i was thinking about that. maybe mask off a small line and do gloss black. i was also thinking about putting a M/// sticker on one of the sides of the center dash trim and doing clear coat over it so it looks clean.. Its M sports package so i can get away with it

Problem with paint for me is that if you are going to do something like gloss black and you are picky, it has to be absolutely perfect.
The way the light hits the trim and the viewing angle across the dash, you will see even the tiniest of flaws. That would drive me nuts! |

I have a lemon interior and painted my wood trims in gloss black.
IMO looks much better.. Unfortunately I'm in another city right now, so I'll show my one next week. |

If you want gloss black and don't need it to be reversible, paint it. Wrap will never be as deep as paint. Paint will look more refined and have a higher gloss than wrap.
