F$&king freeway debri!!!!
So on the way home the other night I hit some debri on the freeway doing about 75. It took a chunk out of my kersher style CF lip and also ripped off a pice of my underbelly tray. I was pretty pissed. I was passing a slower car and as soon as I got into the next lane........ Bam there it was. Nothing I could do but hope for as little damage as possible. Couldn't have been worse I suppose. Seriously these California freeways are full of debri. Anybody interested in a cf kersher style lip with a chunk from it?

Yeah me too. The next day I went and got another lip. Waiting to install cuz I'm driving cross country to NC. Who knows what sort of trash will be on the roads driving across the country.

I know the feeling. The day after i got my car, i went on a trip and as i got on the freeway a truck in front of me kicked up a piece of tire on the rode and it took out the mesh on the lower part of my bumper and damaged the bumper. I hate how bad CA freeways are.

Tell me about it op, had a piece of wood in the feeder coming out the highway near my house and these idiots had parts of it blocked off so it was 1 lane. Couldnt dodged the piece off wood and it ruined my lip, took paint off my bumper and cracked my passenger side fender... and my deductible is 1k. Blood is still boiling and it happened 2 months ago.

When my Nissan was < 2 I was going to a hockey game and something went crunch on the expressway. When I got there oil everywhere underneath (no idea what I hit, or if my oil?). Car was under warranty and they replaced the reverse switch (5spd). I was thinking with rush hour traffic, I bet if I left the office 30 sec later someone else woulda hit whatever it was...

I'm actually about to buy one now, have any input/recommendations/feedback of the one you chose..??
I found one on eBay by fstdirect, seem to be pretty reputable but nobody on here has vouched for them that I can see.. Thanks!

At least it was cosmetic...you could fill it with Bondo and spray paint it and few would even notice.
A long, long time ago, I was commuting to work on the freeway, and the pickup truck in front of me dropped his spare tire. Not having sufficient time nor space for any evasive manuever (packed with traffic in adjacent lanes) I ran right over the top of the wheel in a sports car with 5" of clearance...tore up my suspension and anti-sway bar pretty well, and a labor strike going on in Europe prevented getting timely replacement parts, my mechanic had to resort to arc welding things to get the car back on the road after weeks of waiting for a replacment part. Yeah, 10-20 secs. earlier or later and I would not have been trapped in the lane suddenly faced with a pickup's spare! |

Can't comment on the one on eBay........but I have been placed in the understanding that all or most of these bumpers are from same manufacturer. Just something I read in one of the threads in this forum. If that's true or not.... Your guess is as good as mine. The one I got was from jgmods. Fitmint I would say is 8/10. Have you considered the 1M bumper? Looks nice. I entertained the thought for a moment.....but left it alone for the time being.

Sucks man but at least it was not a lot of damage. On the I80 heading towards SF from Sac I wasn't able to avoid hitting a tire tread that was picked up by the delta breeze. It cracked my bumper and caused enough damage to the hood and left fender. About 2K worth of damage.

I did consider the 1M, but I'm on stock 189 wheels and not lowered yet nor do I have spacers, and I think that may be a bit too aggressive of a look for now lol.. But it does look pretty bad ass on LTMW E92..!
